He didn't just say the investigation is almost over. According to KSR, anyway, he said “It’s almost pretty much over. I think everything is behind us right now.”

I think everything is behind us now is a lot better than merely saying the NCAA is done investigating......

It absolutely floors me that anyone that calls themselves a religious person like he does would not step down in shame over this whole debacle. Instead it's business as usual in Duhville. Its shocking how hypocritical it was to have a Catholic priest behind the bench when his program is involved in such blatant, disgusting practices. The real shame is that the average UL fan hasn't called for his resignation. Teenage girls stripping and having sex in a publicly funded dormitory is beyond reprehensible. Like it or not, Rick Pitino's name is all over his program whether he was directly involved or not. It just shows what kind of "Christian" that he really is when he disavows any knowledge of something like this.

If you take the time to research and define just exactly what comprises "the average UL fan" you will understand.

Only thing behind Pimptino right now is Katina's three finger salute where the sun don't shine!

Not only do they not call for his resignation, they have managed to find a way to spin Rick as the victim in all of this. Hilarious!

I could care less if a coach is Christian or not, but agree that it's nauseating to see someone so showy with their faith and values go out of their way to violate nearly all of the central teachings of the Catholic church.

It is not over until they receive their NOA. Then UL has 90 days to respond to the NOA, after that he COI meets to determine if they want to give UL any additional penalties.

That's correct. However, when he say "investigation", he's probably referring to the fact finding phase (e.g., interviews, document collection and review). In that case, he's probably correct.

I'd expect that the NCAA and UL probably have the list of factual information pretty close to finalized. Once that's finished, then it's a matter of mapping those facts to specific NCAA bylaws to come up with the list of alleged violations. The drafting of the NOA would start shortly thereafter and run somewhat in parallel to finalizing the allegations.

If UofL received the Notice of Allegations tomorrow...it would be at least 6-7 months before sanctions/penalties are announced by the NCAA.

Yeah, to me it sounds like he has talked to the ncaa and they are good with what ul has already done, penalty wise. I hope I'm wrong but it sounds like THEY think they are going to skate.

Evey time Pitino lies, a Cardinal gets it's wings! Seriously, if you started a thread every time he lied, there would be no room to discuss UK news...It would fill the lair and Rafters!

I'm sure he is right. The investigation is probably over but now they have to wait on the NCAA to release the findings and rule on it.

The investigation stage is probably over, but we aren't done hearing about it. NCAA will put something out

There was a thread yesterday where some of our fans were defending Pat Summitt's kid for doing what he did. How can you only criticize our rivals? I agree that Pitino is a bad guy because of the way he has treated women in his life, but I really do have to point out the hypocrisy of our fan base again. The reason everyone hates us is because our fans are homers that only see bad in the ones we don't like. Let the blasting begin.

If everything is behind them it only means the NCAA is coming at them from dead on from the front side with a full head of steam. Ain't no way this party is over with no further ramifications. No way jose!

A good Christian man wouldn't bang a ***** in a restaurant and then pay to have their love child aborted. Pitino is the biggest hippocrite walking the streets today. He needs to just resign and just disappear, but he won't and the pathetic sycophants that follow UofL won't demand it either.
