You know what they say, Arguing on the internet is like running a race in the special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded

My question would be this...to the Pitbull lovers...

Why do you think it is that the media is out to get them? What would be the thought process behind picking that type of dog?

I’m not really a pit bull lover, more of a dog lover. I’ve worked with several shelters and rescues and many of the dogs in those places are BSL dogs. I also know several game dog breeders down south who are in to hog hunting.

The problem with the media is that they thrive when they have a boogeyman so it’s hard to believe their ********. If an animal looks like a pit bull to them then the article says pit bull. If it doesn’t look like a pit bull then it says “dog”. Why is that? It happens over and over again in the media. Another issue is that these people don’t even know what they’re looking at. I don’t remember the article I was reading one night, I think it was some Canadian source where they were talking about breed bans and had a picture of a pit bull in the article but it wasn’t actually a pit bull, it was a Dogo. Another was about a dog attack with the dog shown listed as a pit bull only to find our later on that the dog was misidentified and was actually and American Bulldog.

The media can not be trusted for dependable information. The same people has a portion of the country thinking AR rifles are the boogeyman or fully automatic even though rifles as a whole are used in like 2% of shootings.

As least the gun argument has a historical basis although nearly all water and electrical services are government based so if a communist/facist/nazi government wanted to take your freedom they would just shutoff your electricity and water. The dog argument is ego based, there is no constitutional argument

Did you watch the video? The media had nothing to do with this...the video had a dog designed to kill attacking a 6 year old and then taking on a full grown man in the prime of his health and strength. The dog easily knocked this man over and injured him. Mountain lions, the best hunter in america, kills a few people a century. Pit Bulls kill 30 a year and have to injure and scar hundreds more. Including owned dogs. I'm fine with people wanting to have a killer dog because people are stupid, egotistical, fear ridden, prone to evil and will hurt others just to feel power. But don't blame this nature on the media, or snowflakes, or anything other than human nature. I do personally think that a dog owner should be tried for the crime the dog commits. If the dog kills a child, the owner should be tried for manslaughter or even murder and put in jail. I don't want to take things away from millions of people for the actions of hundreds but the hundreds to should be removed from society.

I get your point but clearly we have stats and sometimes video proof that show more pit attacks than other dogs, right? So this could be a case of the media just simply reporting.

I am guessing that if there was a Pug dragging a 4 year old kid down the driveway and if it took two or three grown *** men to get that Pug off the little kid that it would make the news, all over the country...and if there was video of it, it would have 50,000 RT's in under 10 minutes.

Why a separate thread? Just add this to the first one about pitbulls... it’s not rocket science...

I'm waiting for the inevitable Pitbulls VS Bidets VS Weed VS Assault Rifles VS Room Clearing Farts thread.
Should be fun. I'll provide some floppy booty GIFs.

He asked specifically about the media, not the original video.

Again, why label one but lump together the rest? There are plenty of statistics that goes both ways, not just the boogeyman route. Some places have lifted BSL bans simply because they didn’t prove to do anything other than reduce pit bull attacks yet dog attacks in general went up or stayed the same.
We may as well remove all medium to large breed dogs from society, take one away and eventually the next breed takes it’s place. It will be one big vicious cycle.

The CNN story is a perfect example of how the media DOESN'T pick on pitbulls. The entire story was about upgrading the entire facility because these monster dogs can't be kept in their cages. They need millions of $, in a state strapped for cash, to make sure these "puppies" can't break out of metal cages and eat cats. Nobody said anything about the fact the dogs are so smart, strong, and violent that a normal facility can't contain them. Nearly all of us have some idiotic way to be free. Either free to be fat, or abuse alcohol, or raise killer dogs, or carry around high powered rifles, or drive stupidly big trucks, or indulge in porn...I love the freedom to be stupid but blaming media is just a distraction from our pathetic nature.

Lol, you don’t eradicate a species. I’ve met plenty of nice pits. However, they aren’t even the most dangerous dogs. Check out a Caucasian Mtn Dog. Would snap a pit in half.

With that said, if you have kids or are not responsible to control a dog of that magnitude, you’re not doing your neighbors any favors.

It comes down to ownership. And personal responsibility. A lot of dogs are dangerous and if you raise them wrong then they’ll bite. Hell, they’re animals. I place all blame, fully, on the owner if that dog reacts wrong.

And I’m the type of guy who will walk my kids with extreme caution around any dog that looks like it could maul.

Idiots having Pitbulls is like an idiot with a weapon. Idiots raising a mastiff, same thing. Except a mastiff will do twice the damage in one bite

In fact, bring your baddest Pitbulls around my 170lb Newfoundland. He will pin it and choke it. And he wouldn’t hurt a squirrel. It’s the owners who suck and let a wild animal, with a lot of weaponry, out to do bad things
