I've seen a lot of talk on here about the school board issues but nothing about the upcoming team! I'm curious as to people's outlook on the team and how they're looking in Spring Practices. I think we are in for a fun year with a ton of returners at skill positions and defense. Plus an undefeated JV team moving up. I think we have a great opportunity to compete for the conference and make a decent run in the playoffs. What do y'all think?

Be thankful your coaching staff is intact (minus 1), the central office tried to dismantle it, sending coaches elsewhere, On the subject of spring practice, How is the new offensive scheme coming together? Is the offense going to open up?

I watched the scrimmage this week.Really hard to tell from that except the numbers looked good with some size ,kicking team looked O.K.Just have to wait a few more months to find out how good we are.

with the best coach in wnc and a d-1 recruit in the backfield and a undefeated j.v. team
coming up i would say nothing short of a 4th round playoff appearance or with a little luck a state
title would be a disappointment. oh ... and lets not forget about the Milltown defense. The future is bright for the Bears

LOL... Nueman sounds a little butt hurt. Franklin will be dominant once again and Tuscola should have one of their better teams this year.. It will be interesting to see what transpires this season in the WNCAC. All I know is I can't wait for some WNC football. And yes Nueman from what's coming up for the Bears the future should be bright. But it should also be bright for the Panthers and Mounties as well.

So Newman you agree the Bears will win four in a row over your mounties?.Surprised you would give up before the season even started.

First game for Bears 90 days from now.August 19

http://www.citizen-times.com/story/...ors-still-lining-up-pisgah-fullback/84794822/ Think we will see this kid carrying the ball a lot more this year.Former Tuscola player who knew which Haywood county team was the best.

When your pops gets in a fight on the sideline with another assistant coach, your options become reduced. Guess he could have stuck it out on his own. Funny how none of that ever showed up in the media.

Where again in Canton was it they moved to?

His pop has been on the field every day at practice working with our kicking team.Kicking team has improved every year.Bottom line the Bears are three and 0 against the Mounties since they came to Canton.

how many kicks did yall miss in that playoff loss ? you can spin it how ever you want,
the kid had no choice his dad showed his butt and was told to leave . im glad it worked out for him
just sorry his dad set a poor example on how to handle a situation that got out of control( i will take my toys and play somewhere else if i cant get my way). on a lighter note... maybe alabama will need a kicking coach
in a couple years !!!!

Yeah we missed a forty yard plus kick in the play off game at the end.Even the pro's are not perfect.I also remember we made those kicks in the JV game and a 35 yard one in the varsity against your team plus the one that beat you at the end.The kid that was the varsity kicker will be around a few more years.
Just maybe it was your coach that set the bad example. If you guys have anymore like him and his son we will gladly take them.Like I said 3-0 and looking for number four.

Uh, they only "came to Canton" two seasons ago.

Didn't know the city limits extended to Ratcliff Cove.

They don't and that is good.I thought you knew when they came to Canton since you were all in favor at that time.I remember you all saying that.

Personally I thought that the NCHSAA transfer rules should have been followed. That being said, its kind of hard to expect a kid to stay on at a place where his parent made a spectacle of himself and was removed from his position. Nobody in the school administration had the fortitude to actually enforce it.

The whole subterfuge of "moving to Canton" and then attempts to recruit others to join them in the trip left a pretty ugly stain. Then your coach spent some period lying about whether or not he was coaching there when he had been seen there. So yeah, I guess at some point good riddance was the prevailing attitude.

Sad thing is he is a good kid and a good student.

I guess Nick Saban will find out what Waynesville Youth, Junaluska Warriors, BYO, and Tuscola all eventually had to learn the hard way.

I just really wish the people of Canton realized all these "offers" this FB has supposedly received are really just walk on opportunities.

You're correct Alabama and UNC have offered Michael a preferred walk on spot. Illinois State has offered him a full ride. (Google them if you don't know). To say the least that's three pretty dang great football teams who want him. (Preferred walkon is treated exactly like a scholarship in regards to the coaches) you obviously are trying to take a shot at a 17 yr old kid. It's all good tho. When he's flat backing your boys this year we'll see how the "walkon" offers stack up

I just know football. Haha and I don't have anything against the kid, all I'm saying is that if Pisgah has a big D1 prospect in the backfield.. Fullback or Running back.. He would be carrying the ball 20 times a game with at least 150 yards and also making 15 tackles a game on defense.. And clearly that's not the case. You're killing me smalls

Leave the Coaching to the Coaches.....................It is a Team Game!! They will always do what will put the TEAM in the best position to WIN!!

Football is a team game? Must have slipped my mind chief.. And trust me.. I guarantee if a Pisgah coach actually read what I said they would agree with me. I only saw both teams play a couple times last year, and from what I could tell the best all around FOOTBALL player in the County was the kid wearing the #1 jersey from Tuscola. I don't even know what the kid's name is but the kid was clearly the most explosive/athletic player.

Not going to get in a pissing match. I watched both teams twice each and once against each other. Not getting into who I thought looked the best from either school. But if I'm picking first it's probably #21 from PHS. But yes there are very athletic kids on both sides. I'm done with this discussion.

That is Caleb Ferguson. He will be a senior. He is a tenacious RB, although not much bigger than the two HB's. He is hard to bring down.

Well I look forward to watching the kid play. Hopefully he stays healthy and gets a steady dose of carries because if he does then I see Tuscola winning 8+ games. And Pisgah to the spread huh?

Not sure about the spread but they have three quarterbacks right now. They have the returner (Rogers, 11th), the JV quarterback (Wike 9th), and Enka's QB (Fabio 11th) from last year. Looked in practices like they were trying to spread the field a bit more, but its spring practice so I don't know how much you can really look into that.

Through the grape vine it was like 3 kids who kept getting into trouble and didn't really even contribute that much on varsity anyway, and one lineman quit which supposedly woulda been beat out by a rising junior anyhow. So.. Nothing hurt I guess.

Pisgah, Chase, and Asheville were at Pisgah on Tuesday. I think Pisgah had another one on Thursday.
