JV bears look like they're gonna be real good. Loved their physicality. Ready to watch the Bears show the Jets what this "rivalry" (Pisgah has a 35-5 record in all time series) is all about.

I just wanted to address the attendance topic we were talking about at the beginning of the year when we found out Pisgah was going to play at Asheville this season. First off, you guys were nowhere near filling up our away side. It was MAYBE half full. I told you guys that our away side was bigger than you thought. As a matter of fact that crowd last night wasn't even in the top 10 I have seen at Asheville high.

On January 19, 2015 Pisgah bear supporter said "I'm shocked were playing Asheville too. Guess Brett decided to give Wilkins a big gate."

It was a decent sized crowd, but again no where near filling up the away side. Erwin will bring more fans over than what Pisgah brought over. As a matter of fact, Franklin brought just about as many fans!

On the same day Pisgah bear supporter said "Your away side didn't look any bigger than Tuscola's."

Tuscola has a nice stadium, but their away side is a joke due in large part to the fact that it is a 5th of the size Asheville away side is. So I don't know what you meant by that.

Thank you for playing us last night since some schools around here even in Buncombe county wont play us, but the idea that Pisgah was going to bring 2,000+ fans over and fill up the away side or have more fans than us was complete and utter nonsense.

I guess I'll step up and respond to this...Erwin should bring more fans for several reasons 1) its closer 2) its a conference game for both teams and means something 3) it won't be on a holiday weekend. I know what your trying to say but there still was as many Bear fans there as Cougars. I drove through two hard rain storms on the way over that had people stopped on the side of the road that I know some people would have decided not to trek through to go on to a game. And I've heard several older people who won't go to Asheville due to the walk uphill out of there. Again not making excuses but this was a meaningless game in the final layout of conference championships and such on a holiday weekend. You just made a much bigger gate then we will get from you all at this point next year.

Who said Pisgah would bring 2000 fans? I never read that anywhere on here. If everyone that was standing on top behind the stadium seats were in the seats it would have been a lot fuller. Not saying it would have filled it. There was a lot of folks standing up tho. Bearalum is right also. If it hadn't been on Labor day weekend the crowd would have been bigger. A lot of Pisgah folks headed to the lake. Pisgah fans have filled that stadium before. I remember it being full in 99. I don't know why any this matters tho. It ain't like Asheville fans have ever filled any stadium. Even their own. If you wanna see a full stadium maybe Pisgah and Tuscola could play at Asheville's stadium. That way it'd be full once in its lifetime.

To bad fans don't win games, players do. When I played I would care less if it's 1,000 fans or 1.

2003 Asheville south point it was easily full on both sides. In 2003 tuscola it was easily full on both sides. It really doesn't matter I'm just proving my point I made in January that there was no way you would fill up our away side...and you didnt. The amount of fans we had is irrelevant. No Asheville fan would ever claim we bring massive crowds anywhere. Although the fans from Asheville that actually do go to away games are very good fans because they are actually there for the football game. Most of the people at our home games are completely unaware of the fact there is a football game going on in the first place, let alone cheering.

Never said fans win games. If your on the field playing you don't hear them anyway.

Were the South Point and Tuscola games playoff games? If they were that makes big difference in crowd size. Plus its more or less preseason games right now. Both teams could throw out this game. Both coaches are more worried about conference. I feel like both coaches called a vanilla game. As far as this game this year the size of our crowd was affected by the storms just before the game. The fact that it is Labor day weekend. The fact is Pisgah crowd size is not what it use to be for whatever reason. Pisgah had good crowd size in the early 2000's. After 2006 when they were beat by Shelby in the fourth round. The crowd size has dwindled down every year.

I'm not getting into this debate one way or another, but tell your older folks the next time Pisgah plays at Asheville if they'll park in front of the school they can go through the ticket booth next to our field house straight to the visitors stands. It's not that long of a walk and it's pretty much all level. My dad is in his 80's and that's the way I take him in to all our games.

Trust me, Pisgah fans didn't come because they knew they weren't going to win. Labor day, Old people none of it has a thing to do with it. If they thought they were going to win they would shut the mill down and rent busses to come and carry those old people in on a stretcher. That is a fact.

^ More truth in this post than meets the eye. Pisgah folks have come on here (NCPreps) for years talking about the tradition in Canton and how Tuscola and the town of Waynesville is nothing but transplant Floridians and a conglomeration of people with no ties to the area. While this may be a tad bit true, the real truth (perhaps hard to swallow) is that The Canton population is aging rapidly. No one is moving in. The old timers are dying off and the fan base is shrinking. 10 years ago the Bear faithful would have filled that stadium to capacity regardless of talent on the team. Waynesville is growing at a very rapid pace, and it ain't all geriatrics sweetheart. With talk of the new "Biltmore Park" style development on Jonathan Creek a real possibility, we could be looking at 2A vs large 4A in the County Rivalry in the next 10 years. All MHO and food for thought. Let the bashing begun ;)
