45 fouls called in the game last night. When you average more than 1 foul per minute of play there is an issue. It's brutal to watch. I think TV helps mask it a bit since you have replays and other things to take your mind off of just how bad the flow is, but being at the Rupp last night it was brutal. Something really needs to be done about it but the NCAA will never step up to make the changes necessary to get consistency.
Oh the AMOUNT of fouls? Absolutely. The SEC is atrocious and even the commentators said what I've been seeing for years: The more fouls you call, the more the flow stops and it lets teams get set up in their offense. That is a detriment to Kentucky 1. because our sets aren't great to begin with and 2. it prevents us from using our athleticism to win games. If we had the fouls called like the Big10 does, you'd see Kentucky run a lot more teams out of the gym.
