The amazing Mrs. IslanderHeel has planned a four day trip for us to Pinehurst and four rounds of golf for me. I have two rounds booked on No 2 and No 10 (Saturday and Sunday). Any recommedations as to which other two courses to play (Friday and Monday)? Any other recommendations for the stay (dining, etc.) are greatly appreciated. First time there and looking forward to it.

Probably depends on availability, but 8 and 4 are the two best courses (by far) you aren't already playing. After that, I would rank them...

I can't remember if 7, 8, 9 are still members only though. Don't think they are. Obviously you need to get a round or two in at the Cradle. Does your wife have spa appointments for her booked yet?

Lisi and Villagio are two great dinner options in the village. Pinehurst Brewery, Maxie's Tap Room, and Drum & Quill are good casual dinner options. Basement of Dugan's Pub and the Pine Crest Inn are good spots for drinks with lots of history.

Let me know if you have any other questions or are looking for anything more specific.

Awesome. Much appreciated! Don't believe she has her appointments booked yet. Coming in August. I know, hot, but I'm a southern boy and don't care. Just excited she planned this.

There has to be something said for the pork chop at Pine Crest Inn.

First time I ever ordered it the waiter set my plate down and started to take my knife away from the table. I said, "I need that for the pork chop." He smiled and said, "No you don't."

Just play the Cradle over and over again. I personally am fond of Pinehurst Brewery for a casual meal. I assume you're staying on property, and they'll have a shuttle to take you anywhere on property (including the brewery). Pinehurst Track Restaurant if you're breakfast people (though you probably are getting included breakfast at the resort, and the buffet is fantastic). BHawk distillery was a cool spot with some outdoor space, decent food and a casual atmosphere.
