Was it that after sampling Jaden’s play and dedication to the Pike style of play, Pike figured Jaden was just not a proper fit for RU? There is little reason otherwise to limit Jaden’s minutes in later games. Pike had to know that lack of playing time would likely result in his exit. Sad that we were not able to cash in on a talent, but the program is the program.

NJIT: 11 minutes, 5 pts, 2-2 shooting
DePaul: 9 minutes, 3 pts, 1-1 shooting

He was earning minutes and Pike shut it down after Illinois when the entire team played like crap.
He didn’t play the defense Pike wanted, and that’s why he didn’t play.
Kid would have been a good player for us after a couple years IMO.

I agree - Pike deliberately benches our best talent so he can keep our ceiling as a double digit NCAA seed. If he coached football - he definitely would have kept Retttig on the bench as well

If Jones was not improving on D but still playing 10 minutes per game, we might not have made the dance. No way of knowing.

What I do know for sure is that if Kiss had no history with RU and committed to RU as a transfer after leading the country in scoring this place would be going nuts.
Kiss shot 30.9% on threes against Northeast Conference defenses this season.
Except I don't think that Kiss was ever really "in the mix".
We tried when he was here but he definitely wasn’t a marksman. Plus as some said here already he wasn’t a stellar 3 point shooter as the nation‘s leading scorer.
Kiss is 26 years old and would not be playing anymore if he did not transfer multiple times.
Jones is a freshman and still a work in progress. These kids all have some level of talent but some need time to develop and ultimately not every player is a fit for every program / coach.
Kiss at Bryant was the level he should play at.

We had Kiss as a sniper off the bench and he shot blanks, he had every chance to show what he could do and he did not show much, he was not able to raise his game on either end of the floor to play D1 BB
