I think this is the first time we got to see the team that Pike and Carino thought we were going to have preseason. PM poised and scoring. Controlling the O. Whole team: Lots of passing and sharing, smooth fast team O. Strong play from all bigs including facing the basket.

So at least it wasn’t completely a figment of Pike/Carino’s imaginations. We’ll see what happens from here and if it’s sustainable…

I was going to post something similar about Hoops Weiss, maybe the practices he watched looked like this afternoon!!!!!! I would have been singing the praises as well.

Yes. It wasn’t just Pike. Lots of preseason buzz from commentators.

This is the team everyone hoped for and what Pike was selling to us in the preseason. And writers were buying into also.. Dick "Hoops" Weiss hinted that we might be the best team in the east after we scrimmage Nova... not sure what happened there but it seemed great for us.

IMO, fans here (and Carino and others) should just forget about what some on this board were saying in November and focus on hoping Rutgers continues to play like this... TEAM BASKETBALL.

It’s really been night and day in terms of the brand of O we’ve been playing. Ironically, it’s a solid version of the style of O that many were saying early in the year that Pike was incapable of doing.
