I never said solely blame it on Phil maybe get better at reading comprehension. The Defense has gotten worse the last 2 years, while the offense has gotten better (still not good). We are a PI call in the PSU game from being 5-5. We were very spoiled for a long time with our D doing the dirty work and closing out and winning games. The last 2 years they have gave up more game winning drives than they did the previous decade...
Maybe get better at not thinking everything is about you. I didn't quote you.

Indiana averages 43 pts/game Iowa held them to 20
Oregon averages 39 pts/game Iowa held them to 18
USC averages 38 pts/game Iowa held them to 26
ISU averages 27 pts/game Iowa held them to 16

Three of those teams were in the Top 10 offenses in the country. (See Moral's post above)

The defense is not the problem. It's still Top 10 in the country statistically. Many of our fans are so conditioned to expect elite defense that anything less is considered disappointing.

His defense sucks since cooper and cambell went to the pros...
Same D that gave up 54 to OhioSt and 42 to Michigan. Ya Ok. The D sucks because instead of the Big 10 West, you are getting USC and Oregon's O. Those people don't care if it's pouring rain or if it's at Kinnick. They are going to move the ball on anyone, anywhere. And did despite the bad elements.

Lutmer is going to be playing on Sunday’s.
Good experience going against those USC NFL receivers. He will learn from it but not in practice LOL. Great play on the reverse vs USC, that #6 was long gone if he doesn't trip him up. Great call by USC, completely fooled the D, but wrong player, that #6 was gassed. Btw, that #6 is a dude.

Some of you guys are so programmed to expect a shut down defense that you've lost perspective. 4th in the country in total and scoring defense not good enough.

Yes, USC burned us in the second half. (for a whopping total of 16 points) They're one of the most explosive offenses in college football. (#2 in yards/game #7 in scoring) Get a stop on one of those drives and we probably win. The D still held them 140 yards and 14 points under their season average. Reading some of the comments you'd think we gave up 40.

Our offense went scoreless in the second half. Just one TD and we win.

But it's the defense's fault.
Be glad it rained that hard early. Playing SC on a fast field all game long would had been a 2003 Orange Bowl disaster. Hawk D was overmatched and never once did it feel they were going to be stopped. USC scored on 5 straight possessions and had a couple of calls and no-calls, inside the 10 too. #8 got mugged by Hill in the EZ but he got away with it. BTW, think those stats came when SC had their starting RBs and linemen. Nebraska held them to 21 pts, so did Notre Dame.

It's annoying but KF game plans are based around running a lot of clock and plays the field flip game. That limits opposing teams possessions. Combined with the deep zone to take away big plays. And you get lower stats. And a lot of close wins and losses.

Wrong. How do you explain Iowa (who has a weak passing attack) passing more effectively in the first half then they have all season. USC adjusted at the half and Iowa failed to get pressure.

Which is brilliant and surprisingly not adopted by other teams. Kirk owns other coaches by making them play his game. I personally love it.

I’m sure we have some really good coaches, but we just need to clean house and start from scratch with a brand new staff. When Kirk is gone (which is already far too late) we don’t need any holdovers keeping any remnants of his brand of football around.
Disagree. You keep Phil Parker around as long as he wants to be around. Guy gets more done with less than any DC in the country IMO. And that's not to say Iowa hasn't had some really good Defensive recruits, but a LOT of guys get better under PP. We're damn fortunate he hasn't taken the money and wandered off to Georgia, Alabama, etc.

I'd keep Levar Woods too.
