16 Nike Schools are participating in the Phil Knight Invitational from November 23-26, 2017. There will be two eight-team tournaments held in Portland, Oregon, in honor of Phil Knight's 80th birthday. The 16 teams slated for the two tournaments are:

I know. When I saw Portland state on that list I thought that was kind of random. They porobably want to invite the Portland schools since it's in Portland. That's the only thing I can think of.

It's tantamount to Chaminade playing in the Maui Invite. Each tournament should field 7 out of 8 pretty solid teams.

I would think they love being involved. They may not win a game, but they get to showcase their facilities to a number of big college basketball fan bases, as well as some local recruits that would likely want to attend.

I think the Maui analogy is quite apt.
