Former U.S. Open champion golfer Lucas Glover was allegedly attacked by his wife after playing badly in this weekend's Players Championship near St. Augustine, Fla., DailyMail.com can reveal.

Krista Glover, 36, was arrested by St. Johns County Sheriff's deputies late Saturday in a house the couple had rented during the tournament at Sawgrass TPC in Ponte Vedra Beach.

She was charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest. If found guilty, she could face up to one year in jail on each misdemeanor count.

According to the incident report, Lucas Glover tried to ensure that deputies wouldn't arrest his wife of six years by changing his witness statement.

But because he and his mother suffered visible but minor injuries in the altercation, Krista Glover was taken to the local jail in handcuffs.

The incident report shows Lucas told deputies Krista gets violent every time he doesn't play well in a major PGA tournament.

And since he had a bad day alongside Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose at The Players, she allegedly went off on him at dinner time and showered him with insults, including 'p***y' and 'loser,' the incident report reads.

You gotta look a lot better than that if you're going to be that crazy.

I just looked up Lucas Glover. In 2009, the year he was 29, he won a major and finished 5th in another major. Those are his only two major Top 10 finishes and he's only finished in the Top 30 of a major once since then.

He has only won three times in his career (one was the 2009 US Open) and he hasn't won since 2011. And he turns 40 later this year. I think the days of him making big money are gone and never coming back.

My friend was the golf pro at Ocean Forest in the Sea Island area. After Lucas won the US Open, he was moving from the area and he asked Andrew Shuck to keep the trophy for him. Andrew is now the pro at Carolina Country Club in Charlotte.
