I haven't been following the Tour as closely this season as in the past, so I don't know if this has been a well-reported story. Regardless, sounds like this proposed change isn't the only one being contemplated; another apparently would not be good news for the Greenbrier event.
I fear the Greenbrier event is dead. There are rumors they are moving it to the fall and making it the first or second event of the tour season. College football would kill their crowds. Sad!

Saw it in the paper. Moving the Players event back to March, can you say overseed the course with rye and greens with poa trivialis? The PGA wants to get it's Fed Ex cup done by the time NFL football season starts. With weather a factor in White Sulfur, I wouldn't want it up there after Oct 1.

Fedx cup is a huge money generator for the pga tour if not competing with the nfl. That makes sense. Yes, some of the lesser tournaments are going to be greatly impacted.
