He was warming up with the team so I wonder if he declined a request to go into the game.
Something must be going on. I have been curious for the last few games now..they could use his energy minutes, even if just 5-10 minutes a game
Feel bad for him but others on the squad have rightfully surpassed him on the depth chart.
He was brutally bad when he got a chance. I think it was the St. Bonnies game.

Every practice that Pikiell holds is like a mini audition in that he doesn't have a dog house. If Kiss didn't play last night, he's got every shot the next day to get better and be better.
the whole team was bad that night but as you’ve said, the game got away when he was in it.

To his credit I saw him standing and cheering for his teammates during the game.
I don’t think he’s leaving or anything he still cheers stands and smiles, but him not getting in during garbage time while Shaq and Young stayed out there with the walkons tells me I think Kiss is considering redshirting, which wouldn’t be the worst thing for him
He already redshirted when he transferred here, sitting out that year.
Kiss was put in early because Rutgers was so far behind and Pikiell hoped Kiss could make some 3 pointers which didn't happen.
This is Peter's 4th year of college and third playing. He could graduate this year and become a grad transfer for next year if he desires. I give him a lot of credit. He seems happy during the warm ups and during the games. I believes he really likes it at RU.

Duke sometimes gets DNP’s it very little minutes, this game he got a lot. As Pike said last year w Issa “this isn’t little league, not everyone plays.”
It’s a long season. Players get hurt. Things happen. Players get suspended. Players get the flu/sick. No need to get into the “he’s just not good enough”. Hopefully he contributes and works hard in practice. His time could come. Did anyone anticipate the Issa Thiam fiasco? Can hoops players pull the same maneuver that football’s Blackshear & Sitkowski pulled? What is the magic game count number for Rutgers basketball to preserve redshirt status?

Not sugar coating anything. That's the philosophy. It's not up to me to decide who plays and who doesn't.
Pete played a big role last year, and is capable of helping the team. It's a long season. I never count kids out.
because NJIT was not a big physical team, Pike thought this game was an opportunity for both Johnson and Duke to establish themselves inside, get some decent offense out of them....with Johnson, it worked out....Duke still struggled despite have a size
advantage, but he did get the chance to
play because of that

He already has transferred to a better, more fun school in Rutgers. Doubt he’d want to chance it and transfer again. It’s not worth it, go out there and be a great teammate and play some ball.
Big role? 18 mpg for 6 points a game? Not much of a return for using a scholarship for a year while he sat out. That said, hopefully he’ll have his stroke some night and contribute to a B1G win.
We will need him at some point this year and I hope he is working hard to be ready.
This is how basketball is very different from football or baseball. It's just 14 guys. The HC interacts with every player at every practice. When a basketball team travels together they spend a lot of time together. I know some coaches are cold blooded and will put a player on ice to force them to transfer or quit because they want that schollie open. It is not an easy thing to take a senior and decide that he's not the present and he's not the future. I don't know why Pike won't even give him garbage minutes but there is something to it.
Writing is 9n the wall for Kiss. I've seen this far too many times. They have no use for him.
IMO Caleb should transfer to. He's totally being done wrong. Best shooter best free throw shooter no plays are ran for him. Not because he's not playing well but their interest is clear. Geo, who has clearly been inconsistent. Ron/Paul hometown cooking. Very evident when Caleb's in the game he plays well. Only playing 20 minutes. Sounds extremely political and fishy. From what I heard these were the same reasons Eugene left. Plus other reasons. IMO Caleb should transfer out! Go where he's totally appropriated for his services.
You ever been on a team? This is the converastation on 95% of teams on Dec 1. I got to think McConnel feels the love. Just an example of how hard a HC coaches job really is.

And possibly False Flag rutgrsman posted the same post about Caleb in the lengthy thread about transfers. Not to mention his hints about knowing the real reason EO transferred. Now maybe we have some insight into how he has amassed 35 posts--several dupes in different threads. Until proven otherwise, he is just a green guy with horns from another school.
