Without calling out another poster, what are some of your favorite topics on this board? I’ll start…conspiracy theories (this guy is faking an injury sort of thing) and the fascination with Tyler Ulis coaching here.
There's an attachment to in-state players because some feel they are "one of us" and "understand the tradition". It's the same for former players becoming coaches. That formula never works out, but it’s always brought up.

The Unforgettables would like a word. But yeah, I get what you're saying. Hasn't really worked out since.

Exaggerations. Hate em. Easy to just say what you mean and make a point precisely without overstepping the truth.

I agree with you, most definitely, though with a couple of additional bench players, we’re a top-10 team easily, likely in the top five.

I absolutely hate dropping things or things being placed so they can easily fall off encounter or a dresser for a nightstand, etc. It almost spins me into the ceiling, but it happens

100 percent agree. however, I think that all of our walk ons should be in state kids. Seriously, why are we not already doing this? Our walk ons are from all over. Why not give these spots to kids from Kentucky exclusively?

I almost completely agree, with the caveat that there are 15 roster spots and walk-ons take up one of those roster spots now. I certainly don't mind filling the end of the bench with local walk-ons, but each one you add is one less rotational player you get. Which might actually help Pope shorting his subs.

I can't think of anything.i love this board. Even tho Im like the youngest dude on here . This is my social media. I don't do most normal things people usually do.

If I have to pick it would be the when someone completely ignores your main focus in a back and forth and picks like one sentence out of a few paragraphs and says "prove it" or something like that.

Message board tough guys are always entertaining. It’s like playing a game of who I can place on ignore next.

Most recently, the “Pope Badgers” phenomenon is my jam!

Meh. Unpopular opinion, but I would like to capitalize on the future. I'm thinking like guys that have the potential to be significant contributors to the program. Whether it be connection to donors, relationship to pro players, etc. The walkons will likely rarely get significant playing time anyways, so we might as well play the long game for the program.

Back when it mattered we would get walk ons who were 4.0 students to raise the team GPA. So I'm not opposed to leveraging anything we can

The belief we can land any coach with the snap of our fingers because “it’s Kentucky,” when in reality, since Rupp our coaching searches have seldom netted our top option.

Hall had coached Regis College to a 57-50 record and had one decent year at Central Missouri State before getting hired at UK.

Sutton hadn’t been past the Sweet 16 since 78 and was no where near our top choice in 1985.

Pitino was seen as an outside the box hire after Lute Olsen and PJ Carlissimo turned us down.

Tubby was hand selected by Pitino.

BCG was a third option.

Got it right with Cal.

Pope was a third option that should’ve been the 23rd option.

The belief that Kam Williams is the next Reggie Miller.
Kid made shots against Bellarmine and that was it.
Take away Bellarmine and he probably had more air balls than made 3's.
Love to see him work and get better, but to believe he is a major contributor right now is ridiculous.

Shouldn't even have walkons now. Roster cap is 15, which is the scholly limit too. Only reason you'd have a walkon now is because you can't find 15 guys worthy of a scholly.

One of my biggest, if not the biggest, is just the overvaluing of guys that have done absolutely zilch to make you think they're any good. It's the whole backup QB phenomenon. Last season so many bought into that roster and believed all the BS Pope sold. If you know basketball at all, you at the very least had some serious question marks. Then this year. I'm supposed to believe some dude from Furman is going to be the best player on a good team? Jesus. So annoying.

Cal did it to us a bit. I know people were tired of the OAD and draft night being the best night of the season and all of that...but man, getting good players is fun. And when we don't, I don't want to hear people try to tell me some dude that averaged 9pts at Tulane is a stud to rationalize it. Drives. Me. Nuts.

Pretending like you accomplished something based on when you were born. The boomer, Gen X, millennial, Gen Z stuff is so overblown and stupid.
The contempt that young people today have for boomers baffles me.

I’m a Gen X guy, and I recall we were always taught to regard our grandparents generation with much respect and admiration (we even called them “the Greatest generation”). But that way of thinking seems to have died, today’s youth always seems to reference boomers with ridicule and contempt.

I know it's a different era, but wasn't Rupp coaching at a high school in IL when he was hired?
