Prayers for you Brother. I know what you are going through. I am being tested tomorrow for potential bladder/kidney cancer. I have several of the signs. Nervous as crap but I will leave it in the Masters hands.
Thoughts and prayers to you Germantondevil.

Damn SoCal and Germantondevil, yall’s courage is inspiring. I am truly hoping and praying for the best for you two.

Hoping for the best for you man. Please update us on how the tests come out when you are ready. The title to this thread is very accurate.

Not the kind of perspective I was hoping to read about when opening this thread.

Thoughts, prayers and best wishes to not only you, but also your family, friends, doctor's, etc.

Don't get me wrong fellas, I'm still a bit stung from last night, especially because Duke had the game in their hands.

This one sucks, but I gotta be honest, I'm going to the doc next week for suspected Lymphoma. Hug your loved ones tonight, look back and smile at the ride, and know it's just a game.

And if any of you guys have a faith in higher power, then I'd really appreciate prayers or thoughts you can send. I know a few of you don't like me, but no hard feelings.

I'll be back to post an update when I get one. Have a great night y'all.

Tomorrow is your day right? Keep us posted on how it goes. Hoping for the best for ya.

In my prayers SoCal. My wife lost a kidney to renal cancer in 2004, then it showed up on her pancreas in 2010. She lost 65% of her pancreas, part of her stomach, part of her large intestines and her gall bladder and was completely replumbed. She has been on chemo ever since (now takes oral pills). Six weeks ago they found 2 tumors on her liver and had them ablated. She was in constant pain and taken to the ER 10 days ago to find out that area of the liver was infected and abscessed. She remained in the hospital 7 days taking antibiotics and now has a pick line in with me giving her an infusion nightly. She will probably have another surgery in about 5 weeks to remove the part of the liver that was ablated.

Through it all, God and the prayers of others has brought us through it. Despite it all, she leads a pretty normal life. Honestly, we have seen more blessings come through these times than anyone would ever imagine. We have seen how He listens to all of the prayers and how He uses her to help others.

Prayer works and we are both sending them up for you.

Thank you guys. Sorry I've been lurking but not posting much as I've been stressed with work, family, and this a bit. Reading some of these stories makes me appreciate that so many deal with similar situations, and while I'm sorry to see you have to go through them, I appreciate the words and encouragement.

Went to doc today - they're speeding me in for a CT with contrast on 4/9, and I get blood work Friday when back home. Biopsy will need to wait until after CT due to anatomical location of the mass. Right now he said 70/30 it's Lymphoma, but I'll pray that it's benign and that I'm only dealing with cosmetic surgical excision on my neck.

Hope you all are well. Thank you for reading and the support (and even showing vulnerability).

Well ****. Listen, even if it does turn out to be lymphoma, while cancer is certainly a scary thing it is very very very curable nowadays. My mother and my father and my wife and my mother-in-law and my father-in-law have all had cancer, and all got through it fine, even my 92-year-old father with no kidneys :) while it might suck for a while, you’ll be OK.

Dude1(TUL) is exactly right. Prayers are that it isn't cancer but if it is, cancer research has come a LONG WAYS in just the last few years. It is amazing at what can be done in fighting cancer now. Yes, your "norm" lifestyle will change but positive attitudes (plus for us, our faith) with new discoveries can go a really long way in beating it. Again, our prayers are that it isn't cancer but if it is, more prayers will be coming. Just keep us informed my friend.

Agreed, I work in Genetics myself and fortunately (and unfortunately) get a good look at Cancer and it's potential treatments. You're correct, it would be very treatable so that's a positive for sure!

Appreciate the words!

Hey guys, just a quick update. I was scheduled for CT today but Cigna gave us the runaround and now I am headed back to the West coast until the 23rd (spending more time back East now so sticking with docs and services there). Had to reschedule the CT for 4/25 so I'll update after. Wife and doc aren't happy but 2 weeks won't make or break me. Thank you all for the support and prayers!!
