Just got an email from a prominent member of the Seton Hall community. He asked me to pass it along.

We have a summer home in Ct. One of my grandsons was visiting and he was in a Dick’s Sporting Goods store up here in Ct. He saw a person shopping in the store wearing a long sleeve Seton Hall jersey. My grandson thought he recognized him and approached him asking “ Are you Danny Hurley?” The response was “Yes I am”.

My grandson told him that he was a Seton Hall fan and that his grandfather is a huge fan and ticket holder. Danny was very nice and said: “ I am also a fan of Seton Hall except when we play them”.

They wished each other good luck and said good-bye.

A nice exchange and an example of Once a Pirate always a Pirate; wearing the SH jersey!

I don't think the UCONN fans care what Jersey he has on, as long as he wins. It's his Alma mater and I believe his wife's and maybe one of his kids. I always root for him outside of the Big East.

I feel bad for joeyklings that his life is so bad that he needs to talk **** and say stupid things. You are sad.

My son was a part of the Blue Beard Army and attended the UCONN at Gampel Pavilion. He was standing where the players came out during the shoot around. Danny Hurley walked up and stood next to my son. He had the chance to talk to Coach Hurley. He said he was very down to earth. He said Coach Hurley told him that while UCONN might sign his paychecks, his heart will always be with the Pirates.

A similar nice CT story from a few years back. My son was checking into a hotel in Bristol, CT for a family wedding. The guy checking in next to him was P.J. My son, then in his early 30s, waited until P.J. was finished, then said to him "Mr. Carlesimo!" P.J. looked at him as if to say--- do I know this guy. My son just said "my dad is a Seton Hall grad and we are big fans." P.J. chatted with him for few moments and asked what he was doing in the area. Told my son he was doing in-studio anaylsis at nearby ESPN during the NBA playoffs. My son told me it seemed that he was in more of a hurry to get to the weddding than P.J. was to get to ESPN.

(JoeyKings: do you believe this one.... ha, ha.)

It’s 2026…if Hurley was walking around Storrs in a hall shirt after they lost the regular season to stj, lost the BE tourney final to stj, & lost the championship game someone would’ve taken a picture and it’d be a big deal on social media. All of you can’t be that gullible

That would track if he were wearing an SJU shirt.

But he's won two natties and coached for a third in four years. He can wear whatever he wants in Storrs including his "joeyklings don't know crap" t-shirt.

I've met Dan and I can vouch his affinity for SHU is real. I'm not really sure what is to be gained by someone making up a story.

The story came from a very good friend who is about 80 years old. Do you really believe an elderly man is going to make up such a story?

I tried to post a kind hearted human interest story about SHU and the usual suspects have to get involved. There was a reason the other day that I posted I do not respond to joeyklings because I believe what he says is worthless.

Again, he's making my point.

You also just said Sha has done more than any BE coach or any coach nationally with less NIL money. I think you’re just having a bad week. Some of your takes. Yikes.
