He's a loud mouth egomaniac. One reason, among many, I don't watch ESPN. Many times ESPN is more into the shtich and the ranting and raving than they are into actual sports reporting.

He wasnt trying to exaggerate. He implied that he had a source confirming it because Cal rubs the NCAA the wrong way and they want K as the face of college basketball not Cal.

So UK would fire Cal because he rubs the NCAA the wrong way? That doesn't even make any sense.

Why would they be? ESPN: Entertainment and Sports Programming Network. Nothing about journalism or accurate reporting in there. They don't make money off being right, they make it off of people tuning in.

Idiot-hate is all-in this week. Can't wait until next week. Maybe Cal will be a transgender or something.

He, Wilbon, Kornheiser, Skip Clueless, and Colon Cowturd have no business commenting on college basketball because they never, ever so much as look at a game before March Madness. They also know nothing about the UK fanbase. Nothing.

Stephen A Smith is a complete IDIOT. See his "I'm not calling chip Kelley a racist rant a few weeks ago" and then proceeds to call him a racist without ever using the word racist and then lashes back out at everyone that called him out on it, calling them liars for putting words in his mouth.

I can't imagine he was being serious when he said this. I haven't seen it, so who knows, but that sounds like something said tongue-in-cheek.

I wouldn't have been surprised if Calipari took the Cleveland job had we not made the Final Four last year. The regular season was not fun and Cal had been dealing with a bad hip. There just wasn't a whole lot of positivity around the program until the start of the SEC tournament, and then the NCAA Tournament run turned everything around 180 degrees.

But the thought that UK would ever force out Calipari is so laughable I don't know how you would even respond to that.

He is trying to be the center of attention on the world of sports reporting. He pulls most crap out of his azz for attention. like he needs anymore. He is absolutely ridiculous I personally can't stand this guy. He talks too loud and to slow for me. He tries to use big words and it makes him look foolish.

He said that in jest.

I like Stephen A. He can be bombastic, but he gives players credit when they deserve it and he's critical when they don't.

Truth...it's simply shock value he knew when he said it that it's total BS

Guys like him do not have to deal with facts or truth...just be provocative and be seen.

This guy is seriously an idiot. Not other ways around it. Egomaniac. Here are his exact words:

"My sources told me if John Calipari not gotten to the Final Four, Kentucky was going to fire him. He's not particularly liked by some folks at Kentucky. He's not particularly liked by some of the power brokers within the NCAA fraternity. The combination of these two things was putting immense pressure (on Kentucky)."

One of the many reasons I stopped watching ESPN a long time ago. The only time I watch that channel is when there's a game on that I want to see.

He also went on to talk about the NCAA doesn't want Cal to be the face of college basketball.

"They don't like how he's using this one-and-done rule to really be the face of college basketball, in terms of some of the problems they have. The fact that he has this level of success at Kentucky with his willingness to promote guys coming to his program, and just using it as a one-year stopping destination before going onto greener pastures is something that offends the fabric of the NCAA.
"They don't appreciate him. They don't think he's good for the game. It's making folks in the NCAA sick to their stomach that this guy is enjoying the level of success that he's enjoying.
"They want Krzyzewski, guys like that to be the face of college basketball. "

I hate the fact that idiots like this can get by with saying "sources" when first we know there arent any..and he is basically wanting to plant this in Coach Cal;s head so if another NBA comes call he might consider it

Coach K is probably second to Cal in the one and done categorie but Cal gets all the heat for it and they want Coach K as the face of the NCAA?

Of course he wouldn't name his source.

The fact is, he could have walked up to a homeless person and paid them with a pint of Tvarscki to "confirm" all this crap, and then call this person a "source".

Duke will have 3 guys leave early this year. I wonder if we will hear the outcry that Duke is ruining college athletics? My guess is no. So the NCAA wants the coach who left an accused rapist on his team for almost a year as the face of NCAA basketball? I guess they are trying to get away from UNCheat being the face since everyone knows how dirty of a program they have been for 20 years and that the NCAA has looked the other way allowing it to not only go on but used them as a shining example of doing things the right way.
