The aforementioned Kelly was arrested more than once in S'ville. Who all was arrested during a party at the Grove Apts? Smoot for one.

Our long list of currently incarcerated felons were mostly Jackie's recruits as well. Prather, Walker, Burch (though arrested on Croom's watch).

The big difference between the Croom era and the JS glory years is that we know most everything instantly. There was more **** covered up in the 90s than anybody will ever know.

Heard this from coaches who were around at the time. Eric Moulds ordered a pizza right before practice to have it delivered to the practice field. When the guy showed up with the pizza, Moulds preceded to stop everything so that he could eat pizza, in the middle of practice. One of the assistant coaches tried to tell him to put it down and get back in the drills, but Jackie stepped in and said something like "He's an all-american, he can do whatever he wants."

Edit: He didn't do anything illegal or get arrested, but it just shows the kind of approach Jackie took with his players.

Smoot did that and when the pizza got to the field he passed it out to the scout team. Moulds was a very quiet guy for the most part.

He pulled a Tommy Kelly on the sideline. The coaches told him to go in the game. He refused, and created a scene. Last I checked, he's still on the team.</p>
