Unfking believable wow. if that is indeed a fact i'm pretty much at a loss for words beyond F U Mitch.
With the transfer portal and guys picking schools out of it, it would be hard to wait a week, maybe 2-3 weeks if they got into a series with Boston.
Also, BD already hosed us once accepting, then changing his mind.
So to me, if he wanted it, then he needed to be willing to accept it NOW, and either walk from the Bulls (happens often in other sports) OR get agreement from the Bulls for him to do both until they lose (and have an assistant lined up to be identifying and contacting portal players).
No. That wasn’t Mitch’s list. That was the boosters Hail Mary for a coach we knew wasn't likely. Billy D and Pearl should have been next but Mitch wanted “good guy and some with an easy personality”. It’s clear Mitch didn’t want a big personality after Cal and he was scared of any baggage at all.

Someone could say they saw Barnhart helping an old lady across the street and a bunch of our jerk fans would respond with what you did above.
Maybe a bit far fetched here... but could Barnhart be investigated by the state government for misallocation of public funds? Possibly an arrest? This decision goes so far beyond basketball. Every hospitality business in the state is impacted by this.
At least tell us why not wait for Donovan? And second, tell us why not Pitino with Pope as head coach in waiting? Those two things could have been real and more understandable.

BD was my choice but we could not wait to start discussions, especially with his track record of turning us down last minute. If he wanted it he needed to announce now, sign if possible, and start building a staff. No way we could wait until the portal window was closed.
Donovan understood the dynamics. If he wanted the job, he should have made that known. All we heard is that he would not discuss until after his season. That is an understandable approach, but so is moving on.
