This isn’t a conspiracy theory. I do believe in the need to quarantine ourselves from people at risk. However, you know there are some 3 letter federal agencies and some political operatives that are taking really good notes about how much liberty and freedom we will give up at the drop of a hat because they said we have to. I hope our generation never sees it, but this will be studied. Just like The Patriot Act after 9/11, which undoubtedly kept further attacks from happening on US soil. We lost a lot of privacy and unwarranted surveillance of American citizens.

My biggest fear is they are going to use this for a national medical records database that the federal government has access to. They’re already talking about it. They will use that database against us anyway they can. They can’t help it. They’re politicians trying to stay in power.

When people say things like "how much liberty and freedom we will give up," what, specifically, do you want me to do? Go out and get a ticket and refuse to pay it? What then? What have you done to fight back?

I'm genuinely asking because while I am sympathetic to the argument that we shouldn't roll over and take just anything they throw at us, I really don't know what to do about it.

Shutting the economy down completely will not eradicate this virus. Our only two paths back to normal life are herd immunity or a very effective vaccine. Have you seen how effective the flu shot has been in the past few years? So I guess that leaves herd immunity. How do we gain herd immunity? Well by allowing our young healthily population to intermingle, get exposed, and build immunity. So basically we need young healthy people to go back to life but more cautiously. 65+ or those with preexisting conditions should continue to shelter in place.

That's not how herd immunity works....

And who takes care of those over 65 and those with pre existing conditions?
