Tell me what you want. High End? Quick? How far do you want to drive?

Not sure if you are interested but the Pensacola NAS museum is a great trip if you like that sort of thing. Make sure to eat there at the Subic Bay officers club that they transplanted here. It is open for lunch. If I remember right, you need to make a reservation time when you first get there. If you wait until lunch, then you won't get in.

I’ll just break it down instead. The best Restaurant in Pensacola is Iron, but it’s a high end date place. Other options are Skopolos, Global Grill, and Jackson’s. On the cheper side 5 Sisters is fantastic, get The Andouille Crusted Shrimp it’s not on the brunch menu but you can still get it. Hot Spot is okay but City Grocery is better to me. Ozone for Pizza, Jerry’s for Diner. The Fish House is great. The food truck area at Palafox and Main is a good spot for lots of options. The Beach, I prefer Crabs over Peg Legs, the food is the same but it’s gulf front vs Little Sabine. Good Seafood Grand Marlin, wings Sidelines, Lunch Casino Beach or Hemingway’s. Brunch Native Cafe or H2O, Beer and a bite Red Fish Blue Fish. If you want to go out of the way Jesse’s in Magnolia Springs Al, is hands down one of my favorite restaurants I’ve ever been to. Make reservations though. I gave you a lot but I live in the area and I’m friends with Hadad so you know I like food.
ETA Go catch a Wahoos game. It’s a cool park.

I am one of the guys traveling with him. Thanks for all the suggestions! What about a burger? We love Red Robin, but were wondering about something local?

Hopjacks for pizza etc. and 100 something beers on tap. They have a Hub Stacey's which is a good spot for a burger, a cold beer, and some lottery tickets. I can't really give a good seafood rec since we usually just buy something at fish market and cook it. I would suggest going and experiencing Joe Patti's. Get some steamed shrimp, some fresh catch, and just take it back to wherever you're staying. I've had brunch and Jaco's Bayfront and it was pretty good.

If you have the means to cook at your place go to Joe Pattis' and buy a bunch of stone crab, jumbo lump, shrimp, and fish.

Tin Cow was good but I think there was picture of rat **** in the kitchen so it’s taken a hit. This is going to sound touristy and cheesy but McGuires has the best burgers. I do not like their steaks but damn their burgers are big, good and cheap. The Oar House has a good burger and atmosphere, Johnny Huston’s in Navarre is great too but it is a little out of the way. Now if you want a real Pensacola experience Blue Dot burger. Think The Soup Nazi but with burgers.

Even if you don’t have the means, pack it up and take it home on your last day. It’s an impressive establishment.

Joe Patti’s Seafood market will boil shrimp for you. McGuire’s is a tourist spot but it has a good steak.

2nd going to the NAS museum if you have time. That's a cool place. I always try to go McGuires when i'm in Pensacola. A few other good places my in-laws that live down that way always good to: Jaco's, Hemingways, and The Grand Marlin.

Jesse's is definitely in my 10 ten of steak places in the south east. Jesse's is a pretty long drive from Pensacola and kind of hard to find too, but it's worth it in my opinion.

I can second hopjacks... Pensacola actually has a pretty cool and fun downtown. It’s a neat town.

Best burger in town is McGuires and the best all round food drink and good time. It’s a don’t miss .... and I’m a local.

Yep. I didn’t want to like McGuires for some reason. Probably cause I had to entertain my sis’s groom and a bunch of groomsmen I didn’t know, but it was good. I’d still say go for Hub Stacey’s. Portabello burger, Two Hearted Pale, and $10 on the Powerball.

BMT, Agree mostly with mcdawg

Born and raised in Meridian but been in P’cola/Gulf Breeze 25 years.

Tin Cow took a bad rap but given the press is probably the cleanest place in town now. Tons of burger options and one of my favorite burger joints in town.

Global Grill is on the expensive side but excellent.

You can’t go wrong with Grand Marlin on the beach.

Agree with the others about the tourist aspect of McGuires but food is consistently good and even as a long time resident, love the atmosphere.

Grits a Ya Ya at the Fishouse

Dog House Deli downtown for a good hot dog.

And yep, definitely a stop at Joe Patti’s on the way out of town. Don’t forget your cooler before you leave The Queen.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'm currently on a diet but I fully expect to blow that up the week we're there.

Anyone have any pizza place suggestions for down there?

Sesh hit it with Hopjacks, or Ozone is good too. Again if you are down the Navarre way, I like NYPD.
