The horror. My freshman year baseball tryouts consisted of the coach hitting ground balls as hard as he could at you in the gym. Try fielding those off a hardwood floor.

It’s ridiculous to criticize the SL or NJ.com for not writing about this. They don’t cover the team

Maybe it is. But its not like you counter every wrong fact stated on here. So why not let misplaced criticisms of a news outlet go? Defending the Star-Ledger and NJ Advance from undeserved or unwarranted criticism is a very strange mantle to take up on these boards. You may as well be one of the PSU guys on here telling us Paterno didn't know.

I’m not defending them from criticism. I’ve been extremely critical of their reporting on this softball “scandal”. No news there, imo.

Be critical of the SL all you want...as long as it’s valid, imo. This goes for any topic. It’s ridiculous to be critical of the SL for not writing about PSU. So I’ll call out that criticsm. It’s not ridiculous to call out and be critical of the SL in other ways.

We had a rubber gym floor in HS try it with spins off that floor. Yikes.

Brother, I've never seen anything like that in my life. I would ask why the kids would wear baseball spikes indoors, but I'm starting to think that's probably just another rabbit hole I'll regret going down, lol...

No we'd sneak into to the locker room by walking over the gym floor and ruining it after outdoor practice and games. We wore sneakers on the floor all other times.

Yeah this story isn't very clear.

There must be someone on here who can explain the rubber gym floor.

No that's tile I think. Looked like painted floor. No wood grain. But your elbow wouldn't shatter if you landed on it.
