Rutgers weighed in McDermott and Epperly. Byers mentioned before the match that McDermott was battling injuries, so with the dual out of reach for Rutgers, it probably made sense to save McDermott from aggravating his injuries.

To add a bit to my earlier reply, the Rutgers announced mentioned that McDermott had been out with a knee injury, then returned to competition last weekend. They said that he couldn't go against Kerk, but that they thought he'd be available against Nebraska on Sunday. Their last comment may be correct, but it seemed like speculation to me -- only time will tell.
