“UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State's overall enrollment remains steady more than a year into the COVID-19 pandemic, reporting only a modest decrease in student numbers for fall 2021. For a third consecutive year, the University saw growth in diversity, with a rise in total enrollment of underrepresented students. The total number of international students University-wide at Penn State continues to hold steady despite pandemic-related declines occurring nationwide.”

So the underrepresented are representing.

University Park enrollment peaked in 2016 and has been slightly down since then. Based on the unending housing development in the area you'd think enrollment was growing.

Interesting. Did not know that. I assumed it climbed a little every year.

I see they're taking off with those online degrees.

The Real Barry Fenchak posted an article on the admissions figures back in June. Maybe he got a sneak peak at the data before the press release. Some slight differences between acceptance demographics, and enrollment demographics, but I think all of the trends were consistent.

Thanks for posting Barry's thoughts on the changes in admission. I've go to believe that making standardized test scores optional had a major impact on the number of applications and admissions, particularly for University Park. I'll also expect that the average test score will increase substantially since only students with "good" test scores would submit them as part of their application.

61% of new students opt out of submitting aptitude test scores. My bet is that means lower quality students. Progress NOT.
