Illinois and Penn State in OT. My first time watching the 2-pt conversion "penalty kick" rules. Thoughts?

I like it. I hate Penn State though.

Both teams are electing defense first. I understand this advantage in the first 2 OTs, but what advantage is there in a 2-pt conversion penalty? There is a clear endzone advantage with the rowdy student section. I would use my option to select endzone.

Hold up… they seriously played 9 OT and final score was 20-18, after being tied 10-10?

OT is different now. Beginning with the third overtime period, they run alternating two-point conversion plays instead of offensive possessions. So each team gets a single play from the 3. If you get in it's 2 points. So the last 6 OT's was only 12 plays total.
