“This is supposed to be big boy football, not Ames Iowa.”

“Matt Campbell only had to face one B1G team a year in the Big 12, and they treated it like their Super Bowl. He’s learning fast how much tougher it is in the B1G.”

Ouch. The natives are getting restless in Not So Happy Valley. Throwing trash on the field after last night’s loss. Calling out Matt Campbell and wanting him fired already. Tough crowd.

Personally I think he needs and deserves 2-3 seasons to see what he can do. I like the guy, but wow, not a good start.

Another example of you don't know what you've got til it's gone. Fire Kirk?
Kirk is a good coach. But his sins will live with him forever. The worst of which was trotting out his dipshid son as OC for years while wasting some of the best Iowa defenses of all time. So yeah, I’ll be ready for new blood when the time comes.

It's just too early to flex on PSu. Of course Campbell's team is under-talented. This year is not a proof of what he can do. Give him 2 years of recruiting/portal and see where he is.
But that’s the thing, kids don’t want to go to PSU anymore. Kids were going there for Franklin not the brand which is why all but 1-2 kids opened back up recruiting when he was fired. Now they have a coach that has no fan or booster support apparently and giving them terrible results. Kids don’t want to play for that.

They will always have the Kids who grew up wanting to play there in a rich recruiting State and a tradition of doing well in the NE recruiting an in Ohio taking OSU's sloppy 2nds but this will absolutely hurt them a bit in National recruiting until He puts up a Season , oh and the idiots have money . Other bonus is this will remove some of that shine when He brings His could clean a corn cob in 2 passes face back to try to recruit Iowa

Damn. I rue the day I decided to work for a living instead of becoming a college football coach. These guys have golden parachutes that would make almost every major corporation CEO envious. Do a decent job and get super rich. Fail miserably and get super rich. OMG. What a gig. Couldn't happen to a finer institution than the one in State College. Ya know, "They ARE Penn State!" LOL

Well from last years class it appears there are 2 kids that grew up wanting to play there because that’s who stayed committed. That’s what I mean by nobody is committing to the brand anymore.

He brought a middle of the pack Big XII team to the Big Ten and somehow expected he'd be able to compete.
Been saying since last summer that anyone expecting PSU to contend for anything this season was kidding themselves. Didn't matter, kept hearing national pundits (Cowherd for one) call PSU their darkhorse for a CFP birth and natty, just because they had a relatively weak conference schedule. Expecting the 2025 ISU team that went 8-4 vs. a weaker schedule to contend for a B1G and national title this year just because they're now wearing PSU uni's was nonsense. They're now 0-3 vs. that weak B1G schedule, including 0-2 vs. the old B1G West.

Will this "new blood" that gets trotted out win you a NC? or a slow spiral into ignominy?

So what you're saying is we need to get Cael Sanderson fired from Penn State, and they'll stop winning all the championships and getting the best wrestlers? 😃

It’s year 1 at PSU. No one crowned him the second coming of Cignetti.
I'll be honest.. I think this is EXACTLY the issue. Just read comments across the country - you're either lined up to get in the playoffs or the fans are screaming for xx xx to be fired. Cignetti level performance now is the expectation at most programs.. you don't get a "giveaway year". That's why it would be the ultimate irony for KFZ to lead the Hawks into the playoffs and win games there as 1 of the true NIL "bottom feeders".
