What actually impressed me from both teams were their running backs.. I was watching and thinking, jeez.. we haven't had backs like either team in quite a number of years now..
Yeah it was a reality check watching those guys.

Penn St. would be better off with ND's backup QB. Gotta hand it to that guy with the mobster name, he pretty much jump started ND and took them into half with something to feel good about.
Although ND lucked out when he got the ball stripped, that guy threw the best passes of the night. Getting the FG before halftime was big.

Yeah, the guy playing on one leg looked better than any of ours.

I know, not sure what difference that makes. They still threw a terrible pick with time winding down, gifting ND the short side of the field and a game winning FG. Like Nebraska Iowa just about every year.
They ran it and gained 13 yards. Decided to end it after that. Probably a bad decision since ND has the best secondary in the country but with 3 timeouts you have to try to get into gf range

I get that, and don’t blame them for trying to get into FG range. They still channeled their inner Nebraska by turning it over in the waning seconds gifting ND the game. Very familiar ending.

Must be a big paycheck involved. Clemson is a program in decline and is in the woeful ACC. Penn State was just in the playoff semifinals, is in the B1G and is in the process of a $750 million renovation of Beaver Stadium. Makes no sense for him to go to Clemson unless there are big bucks involved.

This year's Penn St team IMO was the best team they've had since Franklin showed up. ND is a great team & PSU nearly pulled it out. Ohio St is a great team & they played them close.

Yes they had a pretty easy path but Boise & SMU were still pretty good teams (tho definitely not great like UGA, Oregon etc).

I think Franklin will have PSU back in the playoffs again soon. Just my opinion...

It's official now.

"Allen inked a 3-year deal that will pay him $1.9 million in 2025, $2 million in 2026 and $2.1 million in 2027.

That's a substantial step up from what Allen earned at Penn State and from what Clemson paid former defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin.

Allen made $1.5 million at Penn State in 2024 and was set to earn $1.6 million in 2025, per the terms of his previous deal. Clemson paid Goodwin $1.4 million."

Clemson releases contract, salary details for new defensive coordinator Tom Allen

B1G is a stepping stone league

All the best coaches leave this conference to go elsewhere

Proof is in the pudding… Brian Ferentz to Fresno State from Maryland. Stepping stone indeed…
This guy is not the only highly productive B1G DC to flee to the same role in the ACC this offseason, unfortunately.

Harbaugh and Debeour (best 2 HCs in the league) left last year.

Has been a regular occurrence going back to Saban. Will keep happening.

Oregon’s coach will be next.

big is a stepping stone to the NFL. Wow good on the BIG. And Debeour never left the BIG. Bad examples

I've seen it reported in our local central PA media that Allen has family in the vicinity of Clemson. Sounds like it may have been the deciding factor for why he left PSU

Yea you’re right UW probably wouldn’t have retained Debeour after taking them to the national title game

Super insight, as always

So he never once coached in the Big. But the big is a stepping stone conference. One day you will present facts.

In fairness - it’s the quality of the program. Someone from Washington isn’t going to Vandy to be the head coach. Alabama was a step up program wise.

There are few programs bigger than Michigan so Harbaugh went to the pros.

The B1G railroaded harbaugh during the conference’s greatest season perhaps ever

He wanted the F out the day they canceled football

How did they railroad him?
Unilateral suspension in-season based on circumstantial (at best) evidence

Complete horseshit

And this was the 2nd straight B1G commish to hate his guts, as proven by the former commish blackballing him from even interviewing for the Bears job

B1G ran its best coach out of the league intentionally. That isn’t really debatable.

Good for us, though, assuming we can ever meaningfully compete again.

And yet nobody can point to a single shred of hard evidence

Suspending a guy because he’s weird and kicks too much *** is something only the B1G would do
Come on, this is classic trolling, plenty of circumstantial evidence, enough that even Michigan stopped fighting for the best coach in the conference.

Stop trolling.

I prefer some judicial process take place instead of an unprecedented dictatorial decision

But perhaps that’s just this American

Did harbaugh cheat this year taking the hapless Chargers to the playoffs?

He’s a good coach who loves football and hates pussies. The B1G is fraught with pussies.

Why didn’t Michigan fight for him? If there wasn’t a shred of evidence of wrongdoing, why didn’t Michigan fight for him? They suspended him voluntarily, if there was no evidence why do that?

You know exactly what you’re doing. A master class troller. That’s my final response in this thread to you on this subject.

Michigan didn’t suspend Harbaugh for the final 3 games of the season

The B1G did

You are conflating unconnected episodes

Come back when you know wtf you’re talking about, friend

Plus Michigan brass are the biggest B1G slurping, sexual deviant protecting political activists going. They’d slit harbaughs throat the second they had the chance

Right down to the fact that he drinks milk and thus contributes to cow fart warming

This response is for clarity, nothing more. Michigan suspended him at the start of the season. Michigan didn’t fight the suspension at the end of the season. They were prepared to fight it then mysteriously changed their minds.

I do know wtf I am talking about.
