The problem for Pence wasn't his policies and beliefs. It was that nobody wanted to know about them.
Pence has absolutely no charisma. Listening to him read his autobiography would cure even the greatest insomniac. People are looking for someone to inspire them. He simply... couldn't. He'd make a great president of a PTA. The United States? Nah....

In today's climate, there is no room for those people. One must seek one-liners, put-downs, and ridicule in order to win votes.

I think they all need to quit, and DeSantis should throw his support behind Trump to be his running mate. (he's not going to win the nomination either) They should then join forces & push for a veto proof GOP Congress with the new speaker now in place, and move "The Turtle" aside for some fresh Senate leadership with either Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, or Tom Cotton.
Stop playing games, we're about to lose the country if we don't get rid of this current corrupt, incompetent regime.

Trump's a bit like that. He has to be careful what he says in public, but even when he speaks in public he doesn't pull any punches. Mean tweets or not, it's part of his appeal to a vast majority of American voters who are sick of 'milquetoast' bland, spray painted, fake, phony politicians. In politics if you aren't playing rough to win, you're not really playing and you're probably not going to win either.
