Special teams and penalties. This team is just not going to change. Lots of work yet to do just to get back to mediocrity.

It's one thing if you have a false-start on 1st and ten; or if you have a PI or defensive holding on 1st and ten. But when you constantly have 3rd down conversions negated by penalties; or constantly allow opponents to convert 3rd downs because of penalties....well, you are 0-5.

I can handle a loss but not the sloppy undisciplined play ....which of course results in another loss.

UCF committed the 4th most penalties per game in college football last year. Oregon was always one of the most penalized teams as well under Chip Kelly. We're never going to have the discipline of a service academy team in this system.

My guess was the season average in the “how many penalties” thread and they were rock solid pulling that off.

The only thing we’re consistent with is picking up penalties..
