You serious Clark or is a nominee for troll post of the year material? I get that dude has experience in Baton Rouge but I think he has all he needs at Youngstown St currently...

If he ever wanted to be the head coach at a school like LSU again, he doesn't act like he did the last couple years he was here. If course, he may want to be and just couldn't control his temper enough to behave in a way that would get him serious looks for top tier HC jobs in the future. Who knows?

Would love to see Bo coach a Power 5 again only so UNL can stop paying the bastard money he didn't earn.

Guy wanted to act all "blue collar / old-school " but he has zero problem cashing those monthly checks for money he did not earn. That isn't "blue collar / old school".

IMO he's no different from an upper class divorce housewife who receives large amounts of alimony.

ACTIONS speaks louder than words. Pelini is a joke .. How's Youngstown state doing btw?

At least Bo won more than he lost...something you can't say about the guy he took over from.

We all know Bo could coach...just wasn't keen on any PR or head coaching part of the job (and I do mean ANY).

A good lesson in how messed up perception can be...funny the extreme vitriol directed at BP when he wasn't even the worst (imo) of our past recent coaches. Unprofessions...YES. Worst coach...NO.

At least he'd be playing in front of more realistic fans. I'll bet LSU doesn't have a whale trophy in their case.

You keep calling Pelini a good coach and I'm going to have to end our truce. C'mon... lets continue to hold hands for at least one more week. :D

If you want to coach big boy football in the near term, you go out like Miles did.

Not burning down the house like Pelini did.

Want to bet who is the first one coaching big boy football again?

Agreed. Miles was all class act. Pelini was classless.

It's called the Peter Principle - people get promoted to bigger roles simply because they excel at smaller roles. Callahan can apparently coach a position well, just cannot manage an entire program. Same with Pelini. What did Pelini ever demonstrate in the "Nebraska experiment" that remotely suggests that he can oversee a major program? The odds that Pelini will ever be a head coach at a top 25 program ever again is extremely unlikely.

So what is the thought that the interim head coach would hire Bo p as a defensive coordinator? Assuming acting HC, becomes there to stay HC ; I get he is defensive already. Just saying; thats the cover BP would need to improve his position. LSU fans saw some good defensive plays that title year: whether a team effort or outstanding talent.

All joking aside, LSU doesn't want Pelini back in any fashion.

Bo was hated at LSU. The fans wanted his bend-and-sometimes-break defense run straight out of town. Once things turned around, mostly due to amazing talent recruited by the other coaches, they could at least live with him. I doubt there is a single LSU fan thinking he's the guy to win championships there.

This. Just like at NU, Bo won with someone else's players. Pretty much despite Bo.

Wouldn't recruit either. Once Callahan's recruits were gone, he couldn't field a good defense.

I remember when famous LSU alum James Carville said something clever like, " Goodbye, Les Miles; Hello, Bo Pelini," when Miles was rumored for the Michigan job a few years back. Of course, that was before Pelini's HC stint. What some observors saw as genius, intensity and grit as LSU's DC became a national joke at NU.

Actually you can. "6-7" + "4-0" = "10-7". That is winning more than losing. Plus we are trending pretty high right now. Just sayin.....

Well this isn't true at all. Before it went down hill for Bo ALOT of my LSU friends told me how great of a coach he was.

Bo won't be contacted for the job now but it Miles would have left for Michigan 4 years ago he would have been on the short list for sure.

Yep. It is just crazy how the climate can change in a few months. There was an interesting stat that in the last 16 years or something like that, there are only 4 active coaches who have won a natty. Stoops, Urban, Saban, and Miles. Now don't quote me on the stat, as I can't remember all of the details, but just thought it was interesting.

Well that kind of ignores Jimbo Fisher at FSU and if you don't consider him active, Pete Carroll.

The better thought is Les Miles in Lincoln in a cushy admin job
