The 2001 class was more successful and Crabtree did rank that class #10 but again the top three rated recruits from that class hardly played at all either. Two of which were no longer with the team when Callahan took over. Urban Meyer took a look at the Huskers following the 2003 season and he was at Utah at the time and said no thanks . Not near enough talent on that team. So 4 of the 5 top recruits of those supposedly high ranked recruiting classes which were not near as precise or complete as they are today, never even made it to the Callahan years. I overstated I admit when I said Solich did not have a top ten recruiting class but stand by what I said about Callahan inheriting much less than Pelini did.
