A decisive and aggressive Paul Mulcahy is an impact player that changes the dynamics of the rest of the roster.....his scoring vs Northwestern was electric and it's now carried over and impacting his own game and Cliff and Reiber as well.....
He has so much more confidence now in his shot and it appears to have elevated the rest of his game

I have been riding Mulcahy to play more aggressively for over a year and a half....I don't care if he misses shots or turns it over, if he's going to the basket intending to score.....his play at the end of regulation at NW, really should have been an "AND 1", with Cliff getting pushed on the dunk.

He is really working the shot where he gets inside the key and keeps pivoting around till he can get an easy basket

And even when he has no open shot he gets so much attention that it leaves cliff wide open downlow for the slam which plays to cliffs only strength rn

Couldn’t agree more that’s why izzo is one of the greatest coaches because he can recognize unhidden talent that can shine if they can keep their confidence up.

People including me killed the Paul at the top experiment. Not sure what clicked but maybe Pike was right but not getting the execution for some reason.
I’m not sure if I’m a hater but I do call it as I see it. I love the fact that Pike made the adjustment and is playing more zone to help a couple of players.
I think he’s always had this in him. Just never had enough confidence to show it on the court. Maybe in practice just not in front of millions of fans

I think so much of this had to be with the entire team being engaged today. When they all play like this, PM can truly shine. He’s the perfect catalyst when they are clicking.
