Paul Mulcahy - A Valentines Thread

With Valentines Day coming up tomorrow, one player who doesnt receive nearly as much love from this board is Paul Mulcahy

Watching the guy hustle and play today with a dislocated finger (the pic is on twitter), a broken nose and a face shield, makes me appreciate him even more than I already do

Paul is as close to a triple double machine as we have, consistently getting his 6-10 points a night, 5+ assists and 5+ rebounds. More importantly, next time the team is down, and it looks like we are playing uninspired or even scared basketball, watch Paul on the floor or in the huddle, picking everyone else up. He isnt the biggest, strongest or fastest guy, but if I was in a fight, he is the one guy I would want backing me up (no offense Myles, you just seem way to nice to ever throw a punch). He probably has the highest Basketball IQ on the team, and is a safe bet to be team captain in the next year or 2.


So on this Valentines Day, lets show a little love for PM, in the most non-creepy, hetero kind of way - lol



Oh, and on a related note, even though Iowa is my second favorite team in the NCAA, it was a bit of poetic justice watching Garza take one in the face tonight, after his flying elbows tormented us last week

dude - what are you watching....He got nailed pretty hard in the face and cocked his head back in pain...Neither the elbow to his face and definitely not his reactionary head butt seemed intentional...This guy gets almost as much punishment as he dishes out

keep your knickers on sport, I never said he was hit with an intentional elbow or that it wasn‘t a hard shot, and I certainly didn’t say his head butt was intentional., Now you say he did what with his head?

Paul is a warrior and deserves a Purple Heart! Andy Katz was talking him up during the game. They were the best commentators this year.

Andy starting driving the RU hoops bandwagon at the BIG tournament in MSG. He loved Corey, Deshawn, and company with their grit and hustle. His positive outlook only grew from there. It’s easy to like Katz’s approach, he is honest in his assessment but remains positive without hating on teams. Much like Bardo.

I can't recall any of the B10 hoops announcers either hating on teams or being homers. Barto played at Illinois and I always enjoy his Commentary, and Hummel played for Purdue and is excellent. The fact that 2 different analysts called out the refs for their treatment of Myles is refreshing.....Has Wenzel been on this year - he is always a favorite

Really looking forward to him making the league and just being flat out abused on a nightly basis until he disappears.

There won't be any ref protection in the NBA for him.

Every team in every sport has a player or two who is the glue that holds everyone else together. Other than the coaches and a handful of fans, they play in the shadows of the stars. Very often, they have absolutely no problem with this situation. They may well be the only ones who know themselves the best.
