The interesting thing is how his game has evolved. At UK he was a low post player almost exclusively until his last year. Now he is mainly a three point shooter and stretch four.

I might catch hell for this but if not for Cal. Patterson might not have developed into the player he has become. He. Led sec in FG percentage playing center /PF. Goes to show you sacrifice matters. He took s backseat and still made a name for himself.

As great of a job cal has done developing players, he may have improved pats game a lil bit. But pat was already a fully developed player when cal got ahold of him. He was a beast the day he arrived on campus, really don't understand your post in the least. Pat was pat before cal arrived.

Patterson is one of my favorite cats of all time. He came at a time when the program was in shambles. Not only that but he stayed to keep it floating during the terrible billy g years. If it weren't for him we could have been much worse ( i know thats hard to imagine). A terrific player on the court and an even better person off it. Such a class act all around and someone I wish all UK athletes could be like. He grew up a UK fan and has bled blue ever since. Thankfully Cal came in and showed his skill set was far greater than what he got to display his first couple years here. Patterson was a god-send.

Cal didn't necessarily develop Pat as a player, but he did encourage him to open up a whole different aspect of his game. And that is why the dude is making millions now. A true testament of how great both party's are.

hid midrange jumper was money coming in. and he made many of them his first couple years. cal got him to move back a few feet. and a significant thing it was. his free throw shooting, touch, 17 jumper was already there though.

My thoughts mirrored. Pat kept Blue and White from a losing season if he didn't come. Without him there would be a huge void inside until what? Coury Flurry! Pat is a Savior to me!

Something that no one has mentioned yet: I'm not entirely sure that Cal takes the UK job without Patterson and Meeks being here.

If those 2 guys hadn't been here, the rebuilding job would've seemed a bit more daunting, and perhaps he doesn't make the jump.

PPat brought it every game and was nothing but class off the court.

I met him at a bar in Lex and he was the nicest player I've ever met. Told me how much he loved Lexington and even bought me a beer - and that was after he left for the NBA!
