We didn’t play well enough to win. A couple of calls didn’t go our way. I do not, however, think the BIG conspires to screw Nebraska.

We did not play well. And didn’t play well enough to overcome all these atrocious calls.

It is hard to phantom how all these blown calls can possibly go against one team in a single game. And I don’t think any team deserves to be jobbed like this even if they didn’t play perfect football.

Not the reason we lost. We had opportunities. Missed throws. Dropped passes. Missed blocks. That is why Neb lost.
We can suck and still get jobbed by the refs. It happens. I don't think it's a Big Ten conspiracy, it's incompetence.

Well, as has already been cited, this was NOTHING, compared to the A&M game.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, you need to go back and watch it. Twas Criminal, what happened that night.

That is the best thing that can be said about todays officiating. It wasn’t as bad as that time we got screwed back in 2010.

Nothing as bad (or costly) as the Penn State out of bounds catch in 82 (that probably cost Neb the NC that year) or the calls/non-calls that cost Neb the National title against FSU in 93.

But it didn’t matter if we had a punt return called back on a phantom block in that back. And it didn’t matter if FSU fumbled but was awarded a TD. A couple calls didn’t go our way. We didn’t play well enough to win. Right?

No…we played great against great teams. FSU was number 1 that year and Penn State finished #1 in 82. We did play well enough to win games against those talented opponents. We lost to a dog sh@& 2-6 team today and I thought Mich State actually looked like the overall better team for most of the game. It’s ok to disagree. You’re fine.

When a blown call against a 2-6 team is the reason we lost? We have bigger problems.

I’m well aware of both of those games. Just assumed your calls don’t matter thing applied to all games. Later.

We had an opportunity to still beat FSU despite the calls but our kicker missed a mid-range field goal at the end of the game (and missed it very badly). But the calls hurt. Again when we need a couple of calls to go our way to beat a 2-6 team - we have bigger problems than the zebras.

The most obvious screw job I've ever seen.

Bo had a good reason to be pissed after that game. He handled it way better than I would have.
This is true. For all the "bo was a psycho" stuff out there, I honestly can't believe he didn't physically assault a referee, and quite frankly I wish he would have.
That was such an obvious, purposeful screw-job it was eery to watch.

People always say this because they think they are supposed to and they think it makes them look so much better than everyone complaining about the refs, but the fact of the matter is that each and every game the winning team has missed opportunities, throws, dropped passes, and missed blocks. Both teams have them, the winning and losing team. The refs can and do decide the outcomes of games from time to time with poor officiating.

There are games won today by teams who won who, had the refs called it slightly different, would not have won. If that were the case, whose fault would it be?

Having said that, I really am not sure that touchdown wasn't a touchdown. I also think Nebraska got away with some stuff and did get some calls. The pass interference, missed first down at the end, and facemask are simply inexcusable missed calls that factored into the game, however.

I disagree...I think the conference looks at Nebraska as an outsider and ***** on us at will. People laughed at Penn St back in the day saying the same thing....

Hell yeah we got screwed, but the refs didn't cause HH to act like he was playing Yutan in a sandlot game.

Did anyone catch the end of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State? Oklahoma State defender tackled receiver Stoops in the end zone. Catchable ball and the defender made no effort to look back for it. Easy, easy, pass, interference call by the referee on the spot who was 10 feet from the play. But, no call. The announcers couldn’t believe it. They sent the play upstairs and that guy couldn’t defend the no call either. It was 10 times worse than ours. These referees are egregiously bad.

Absurdly bad call. I've noticed the last couple weeks that officials have basically stopped calling DPI.

Man, I don’t wanna rehash that game with Florida State. Those were Big East officials and to this day the biggest complete game screw job I have ever seen. There was no block in the back on that punt return, and that FSU kid fumbled before he hit the goal line. But I’m not bitter😡

I’m with you. It was freaking heartbreaking. I don’t know how any Husker fan that lived though that can come on here and say things like “if you put the game in the hands of the officials you deserve to lose.”

On the TD pass in question, there should have been 2 separate penalties on the NU db. When the WR first juked around him the NU guy reached out and grabbed him from behind (holding missed). Then as the pass was on the way the NU guy was interfering with the MSU wr’s left arm, forcing him to use one arm for the catch (missed PI).

It wouldn’t shock me if the reviewer thought F-it, a couple missed calls and they should have first down at the 2 at worst, called TD on the field, let it stand.
Man, I wish I would have thought of that! Had I known this crew was making up their own review procedures, I never would have criticized them for being grossly incompetent.
