I have it on good authority that Fitz is the next head coach and Ferentz will retire at the end of the year. He had a good although tumultuous run. Probably time for him to hang it up.

whether factual or not it does make a lot of sense given his son enrolled at Iowa, he has not pursued another job, and he has been hanging around the program for a couple of years (so KF could set the win record). Time will tell.
KF still coaching has nothing to do with the record.

Just garbage

I heard this a few weeks back from someone who would know. The big hang up is the potential turnover of the current staff after.

USA TODAY says he's STAINED FOREVER. No one will touch him. Matt Hayes has put his rep on the line with this.

You've got nothing. No name, no credibility.

I go with Matt Hayes, man enough to come forward.

If he was hired, not sure why parker, wallace, woods, lester would stick around

Just bury the program then, because he's not taking us to the next level.

Hayden's last 3 years. 19-16
Fitz's last 3 years 11-22

Not even close
I would charge through a wall for Hayden. That being said he had a much, much larger talent pool to recruit from than Fitz did. HS players with average grades didn't play for NU. HS players with good grades didn't play for NU.

Not always the most talented players on the field but they were always the smartest. Pat was recruiting with one hand tied behind his back.

I don’t buy that Fitz didn’t know what was going on…and if he truly didn’t know, that’s not a good look on his part.

Iowa could do a lot worse. If Fitz is still interested in coaching then I would expect him to be on the short list, for sure.

Those allegations are unfounded. There is some smoke to this rumor for sure.
Not just unfounded but he won a wrongful termination suit. Well, technically they settled but based on Fitz's reaction he feels adequately compensated so you can probably check that off in the win column.

If Fitz is on the short list then the list needs to be expanded. There are plenty of talented coaches and coordinators out there. We don't need to settle for a retread coach who is a knock-off version of our current coach.

I wouldn't mind seeing Fitz on staff, but certainly not as head coach...

He’s barely an above .500 HC, albeit at a program that had plenty of disadvantages. And he’ll do nothing to change the narrative about the offense.

You/ your information could not be more incorrect. I’d find a different “authority”…
