Just announced on twitter that he has been released and one of the teams he'd be interested in is Rutgers. Seems he wrestled with Lewis at Juco and has a good relationship with him.

The kid is an ennormous talent. Just wondering your thoughts if Goodale would take a flier on this kid with all the baggage he brings?

He'd be sure fire AA for Rutgers next year at 184 or 197

No inside info, but when he was looking to transfer from Junior College to D1 I was told by coaches that they had no interest in him. Not because of his talent but obviously because of his past. I can only assume that still holds true (even more so now).

In order for Downey to be able to transfer with out having to sit out a year is he has to graduate from ISU. If you believe what he said he has 19 credits to graduate. I personally don't see it happening. I will be shocked to see him wrestle D1 again.

No he doesn't. If he graduates over summer he can wrestle at any D1 school other than a team on ISU schedule.
