We'd get slaughtered if we thought we could make a living running the football.

The pass game would be working fine if Nebraska had an above-average QB, not even elite, just smart enough to understand his progressions and all that jazz. All teams have to do is load the box and they know Martinez will very likely miss a wide open receiver and end up doing something incredibly stupid just often enough to lose the game.

OP, you should read up on Dave Aranda and his OC. If Trev can hire Dave Aranda that would be an ideal fit for Nebraska offensively.

I don't care what style of offense they run as long as they look competent and effective doing so. And please, for the love of god, get your playmakers the ball more often. It's absurd how uninvolved Manning, Betts and Toure for 70% of the game.

I'm not sure if he's pass happy, the sic'em 365 guys might complain
They aren't pass happy. Even run option plays. Going into today they were in the top 10 for rushing yards and 3rd most yards per play on offense. We will see what the stats look like tomorrow, but they aren't pass happy.

The OL drives the OC's schemes, not QB like Frost does.

I'm open to his application then, as long as he understands joe montana is not lincoln bound.
I cannot stress this enough

I was against hiring frost due to hc inexperience, but when the decision was made I did my best to support.
but below 5 wins in year 4 is the cut off point for me, and that's being very charitable.

Exactly this. AM doesn't need to be a superstar, winning the games by himself. On the contrary. All he needs to do is distribute the ball to his playmakers, and let them do their thing. Far too often, he scrambles around the pocket, throws off his back foot, trying to make highlight-reel type plays, usually with negative results. Get the ball out to those guys and let them win.

Martinez has a very low football IQ, which is why he makes as many game-losing plays as game-winning.
