Part Three/The Plot thickens...

First, let me thank everyone who has given me advice about my job travails. For two and possibly three days this week,(we will see...) I have been ill....Suffice it to say i had some tests, a procedure and treatment. I followed policy, called off, even took the time to request some time to see my doctor when this started. I am in some pain.
Tomorrow I can choose to return to work...but i will need a ride....or...stay out another day. I know that part of all I am enduring at my job, is because they found a kid....25 ish....well dressed, affluent background....and are grooming him for my job. He gets less work now, gets to use techjnology they tried to hide from us until he blurted it out to me....He can do no wrong....I believe he knows this because he tried to shaft me once already and I caught him.....I get a lot more to do, no technology that would have pulled my *** out of the fire...and he gets the glory....So...tomorrow I am asking him for a ride to work. Not to threaten .....etc...just do some "fishing"...I still have my discipline meeting this week...May 10....at which time I expect to be demoted or fired.....I say fight....tie things up a bit...frustrate their efforts...maybe get a lawyer....we have a union but they don't do much....Thoughts?

I'd contact a lawyer immediately.

Not naming the company, but what type of industry are you in? Is it Gov or Private sector? Large (Hundreds of employees) or Small?

In the meantime, show up. Do you job, keep your head down, but your ears open.

Absolutely. If you end up having to go to court, or sue, you will need all the documentation you can get your hands on.

Govt....been after me for awhile actually.....I'm 57....been there over 23 years....lots of pressure to leave. Got behind on paperwork...my life is out of balance...Im being treated for anxiety ....I have high blood pressure and my marriage is falling apart and family life....I'm really Down.

First of all, you will have to follow the grievance procedures that are part
of the bargaining unit contract. There usually are multiple steps, initially
with your local representative and a manager or executive of the business.
There may be other steps before it goes to arbitration, and there is a
selection process for this. I think you need to follow this path and exhaust
the process prior to engaging attorney.

Did that when it started....fought hard....it continues after a lull....The union is helpful, but I'm being harrassed....I'm not sleeping...Im a Bear to my wife and kids....and my physical and mental health are Bad....I'm looking around for a job....when I'm not watching my own back. My boss is Terrible....She does not provide good leadership...and she hassles me everyday....I don't need it. I'm under a doctors care...neve rwas before..Think i've got more than a grievance

As hard as it may be... when looking at them think one thing, "I'm going to do my job to the best of my ability... and fuc# the rest of them... fuc# them all."

Are you in a state that requires both parties to consent to recording a conversation? If not, you can always tape your conversations on your phone. I'm assuming you have a phone that has that "technology."[winking] Covertly tape convo.
