Parking Question

A colleague of mine won four tickets for the IU game in early summer via a silent auction. She and her husband are both RU alums who actually met while working for the Targum, and they asked my wife (yet another RU alum) and me to go with them.

No parking pass was included in the ticket package. I haven't been there in about five years, so my knowledge may be outdated, but if I remember correctly, we should park at the RAC and take the shuttle to the stadium, right? Or is there a better option for people with no parking pass? (The noon start ruled out tailgating for this group).

Appreciate the guidance.

The RAC is still the easiest way to park and get to the game if you don’t have a parking pass. However, I am sure you’d be able to buy a parking pass closer to the stadium at a huge discount the way the season is going. And with attendance way down, the traffic jams of the past are but a distant memory.

Try the ticket exchange board - there is enough apathy that something should be available at a reasonable price.

For $10-20 you can park at private homes yards on Riverview Ave (turn at St George Church on River Rd), and have a 5-10 minute walk into the Stadium via Stafford Rd. It takes you thru the Green/Scarlet lots.

I like this idea, but wonder, though, if the recent heavy rain might make homeowners hesitant to let people park on their lawns this weekend.

You could easily buy a parking pass if you want to be closer to the stadium. I think Rutgers themselves even sells them now as well.

They will be open for business, they haven’t made much money this season and these are very modest homes that probably appreciate the extra income. Another bonus is very fast exiting after the game. You can walk to the Brewfest in less than 10 minutes. One time when I got to my car after game I had to pee badly, I asked the guy if I could use his bathroom, he said sure, went in and it literally looked like a crack House. A dump w very little furniture. Probably renters scamming the landlord by letting fans park in his yard. But there are plenty of other normal houses. All charging $10-20

Park in one of the yards on riverview ave (next to the Greek church). It’s a 5 min walk, easy in and out, and $20

the only ones RU sell are the farthest lots like light blue. You can't buy a silver or better (i.e. black). The other options are just as good if not much better.

If you're coming from Monmouth County or other parts south, you can relatively easily find free {on Saturdays/Sunday) street parking on the College Avenue campus, or worst case pay a meter if not there for more than a few hours. Free shuttle buses to the stadium stop in front of the College Avenue Gym, and it's a 10 minute ride over to the stadium. On the way back you can take the bus, or walk 25 minutes across Landing Lane and through Buccelech Park.

This might work very well, as we'll be coming up from Mercer County and figured we'd grab a meal afterward in NB.

They were not charging at Buccleuch Park last Saturday. Easy walk. I entered from George St near Landing Lane bridge. The past few years they have charged, so no guarantees for this weekend.

Wait, 20,000+ posts and you haven't been there in 5 years??? oh, never mind

I have a parking pass you can have free if you want. I bought it but I live nearby and walk to the stadium.
