My son is playing in a YMCA basketball league where they don't keep score and everyone gets to play, blah, blah, blah that my wife signed him up for. This was done against my wishes as I think these "leagues" have led to the pussification of America, and teenage/young adult males specifically. Fortunately, for my son, he missed the age cut-off by about a week, so he's probably the oldest kid in the league. He's definitely the most athletic and biggest by far.

Any who, last night they had a scrimmage, that my wife dragged me to, so we could show "support." As expected, my kid goes off. About halfway through the first half, I notice the kid that is guarding him starts telling my son, "good shot" after every 3 that my son buried in his face. I'm thinking to myself that the kid needs to kill that sportsmanship crap and play a little defense against my son. Being of my loins, my son did too. After a couple times, my kid starts mocking the other kid. Every time he says good shot, my kid imitates him with a "dunnhhh....good shot" and imitates the goofy way the kid ran.

At the half, I'm fully expecting to have to fight the other kid's dad or the other team's coach. Luckily neither happened, but the kid's mom comes down and complains to this jock-sniffing referee they've hired. This guy was such a goober. Although he did have a striped shirt, he was wearing shorts instead of a traditional ref's uniform of long pants. Just bush league. Anyway, I figure out what's going on and head down court-side to check it out. The ref tells me and our coach that my kid can't mock the other one or he's gonna give a double tech and kick him out of the game. I tell him I want to see where it says that in the rule book. About this time, the mom chimes in with the, "they're just kids" argument. To which I respond with a "lady, mind your own gd business." I was then asked to leave by the ref who, to my surprise, is a local youth minister.

Now that I've had a day to cool down and think about it, I had my banker place a "red flag" on the mom's credit report. I'm also thinking about filing a restraining order against her for harassing my kid. Anybody had any experiences with getting a restraining order? I'm just trying to look out for my son. TIA

OP Is a notorious troll that pulls this **** all the time.

That aside, my kid plays in a 4th grade rec league. They keep score and there is a winner and loser but they don't have "refs." They have "court coaches." I about lost it laughing when I heard that.

You should go tell the court coaches what you pay for a haircut so both sides can get a good laugh.

The apple doesnt fall too far from the tree.
Kids mocking other kids deosnt make them non-pussified.
Over zealous parents have a tendency to ruin things for kids. And

Your kid needs a heavy dose of sportsmanship because he sounds like a jerk. And over zealous parents have a tendency to ruin it for kids. And the old apple don't fall far from the tree.

If this was an attempt at a joke, I can't believe you spent that much time to fail so miserably. If not, then you should be thankful it wasn't my kid your little f*ckstick was mocking.

As long as your son did not call out the "goober" Ref/ minister on sexual preference, ala Kobe and Rhondo, the trash talking double tech would be uncalled for!

If my kid had opened his mouth like your kid did, he would have been taken off the floor and made to apologize for his poor sportsmanship to everyone in the gym before he was allowed to play another second. Play the game and keep your mouth shut other than to give a compliment.

You must be buddies with Craig James.

Bro your like the intense cowboy RB dad from the little giants. You probably deserved an *** whipping. You have to act accordingly. It's YMCA. It's not a ultra competitive type situation or event. Even if it sounds like it was poorly handled by both your son and yourself. Seriously as good as he might be, he certainly isn't acting humble and half his high school great or not will hate him later. He can be good or great and not be a dick. Ask Spiller. Ask Watson. Etc
I've never seen little giants so I don't know what you're talking about. As for me deserving something, you don't want to try me. In high school, I was generally known as the best fighter in our class.

I hope you aren't serious. If so, you might just be the biggest jerk in the world. I mean, who mocks someone for giving them a compliment? Actually, your son might equal you in being a jerk. Good luck with him as he gets to be a teenager. You and society will need it.
I dare you to say that to my son. He just received his green belt in karate, so good luck.

If serious OP, you are the guy at my Son's games that I hope gets his *** kicked by the OTHER dickhead Dad at the game. And ..... if your kid is so GD good why don't you play him up? Based on your story your kid could use a little class as well.
You sound like the guy at the games whose wife has to fight his battles.
