In this case, the trend is not your friend . . .Well, no, but nice try I guess.
It would have worked if our coaching staff was competent.Okay, I’ll play. What are the long-term implications that you suggest? We won’t get 5 stars anymore? Did that model work well?
Yup. When will folks realize that, this is more than a coaching problem. We have a RUTGERS problem, and this cycle will repeat itself until a fundamental culture change happens here. The upcoming university president and AD hires will go a long way in determining whether that happens or not.Why is everyone so convinced a coaching change is the red pill to fix things ? Guess nobody cares to remember how many consecutive coaches failed and most of them miserably
What other schools win led by many freshman, if you remove those with 5 top 40 kids coupled w upper class leadership? It would have worked if our coaching staff was competent.
1. Recruited the correct players based on Pike’s philosophy
2. If not, used players he ended up recruiting correctly and utilized their strengths.
Stop with the freshman can’t win bs Duke wins with freshman, as do other schools. Pike did a terrible job this year, plain and simple.
