Papa continues to irritate me and I continue to eat Hometown Pizza, Wick’s and Bearno’s! Papa picks his battles, and I express my displeasure with my wallet. Not that he’s not set for life, but I’m done with the guy & his pizza! He hasn’t got a dollar from me in about a year!

As much as his pizza sucks...I can imagine why you wouldn't eat his crap when we have all kinds of good pizza in this town to choose from. Wicks, Impellezaris, Clifftons, Bearnos, just to name a few blow his garbage out of the water.
But I can assure you the city of louisville doesn't hurt his wallet one bit. He has Papa Johns in China for god sakes, literally, and all over Asia for that matter.
My kids love it. Like all crappy delivery pizza.....if it's hot and fresh, it's good (ok). But they bat about 50% on that. I'd ALWAYS rather have Hometown or Coals. Different types of pizzas but they're always better. You got the crowd who won't eat his food because of his politics, the crowd who won't because of his issues with UL and then the people who will for whatever reason. Like you said. He's not hurting either way.
Papa contributed a lot of money to the university's athletics and I like his pizza.

Clifton's underrated. I think Bearno's has gone a little downhill over the years.
I'm throwing Coals into it... if you haven't tried it give it a go.
I like their thin pizza as a matter of fact I got two on order for the game tonight.

Papa John's Pizza is fine for what it is, which is mass-produced, cheap, chain pizza. My favorite of that ilk is Pizza Hut.
