He basically kept us in the game in the first half with those threes. Those were moments where the game could’ve really gotten out of hand if he didn’t hit those shots. If anyone thought it was just a fluke from the Minnesota game, sure doesn’t seem like it.
I get sometimes he can look a little lost, but those issues only go away with more game experience. If he can shoot threes anything like today he should be getting about 15 minutes a game.

His nine points in the first half were important in keeping Rutgers from being behind by double digits.Palmquist was one of the few Rutgers players that demonstated a pulse on offense.

He has earned some pt.
He shot it with confidence. This is an interesting development for sure. We don’t have a ton of options so even if he hits a bump, you have to play him. We know what the other guys have to offer so he’ll get his chance

This may have been the game to try something different. Sure Caleb is your captain and he hit a big shot last game, but he needed to see the bench a little more. He played 37 minutes?!?
He couldn’t have been that good on defense

Oskar deserves at least 5-10 min per night given his shooting ability. Hard to play perfect when you lack confidence and hard to gain confidence when you don't play. He's looking more comfortable now and can definitely hit a couple shots per game.

Happy for him for not getting down on himself on the bench and contributing. Hope he continues to improve.

Oskar needs to get a look each game and when he is on like tonight he needs to play more. If he's off sit him back down. He could guard Race tonight too who stinks and a player I would hope Indiana forced the ball to in an attempt to exploit Oskar on D

I don't know about Caleb seeing the bench, but 12 shots seemed excessive.

With Mag out the need for Palm's to take a developmental step up is big.

I think we all agree he can shoot, and hopefully that will help pave the way for the rest of his game. Needs to show some diversity offensively, needs to play at least adequate D, and would like to see him grab some rebounds as well.

There is talent there. I think he, more then any player, can benefit from the playing time which opens up due to Mag's injury.

I know there was a key sequence late which Indy grabbed multiple offensive rebounds, but we held our own on the glass for the game.

We are typically a rebound by committee team. We have guys at the 1-3 postions who rebound well.

When Palm is in they need to play a 2-3 zone as he is a major liability in man to man defense. Easily gets lost. That said he is making up for it on Offense which is nice to see but he remains a spot up shooter and should realize that. His drive to the basket and then leaving his feet to throw an errant pass was ugly.

37 minutes is a lot. Poor decision making skills occur when someone is mentally tired. I don’t want his time to be cut to 25 minutes or anything. But he probably could have seen it for the bench for more than 3 minutes. Frankly, I’m nitpicking here. I’m sure he wouldn’t have played as much if we had Mag. He played a stellar game defensively against MSU, so I understand Pike’s reluctance to sit him.

I see it as the opposite. He needs to develop that part of his game. Sure in the early stages there will be ugly plays, but getting comfortable, and seeing what works are part of the process.

his 3-point miss from corner in 2nd half was a good shot also, took it in rhythm, was in-and-out

It was a lot, but not the first time he's played that many minutes. He leads the team in minutes per game. And with Mag out Pike is going to look to lean on him even moreso(though I think the likes of Hyatt, Simpson and Palms will be looked to more to pick up that slack).

with Baker and RHJ gone, he doesnt have that offensive guys he can just lean on and that's why he is trying to do more. Someone needs to step up and take charge, which should be Paul but he is being way too passive. Paul needs to want that ball in his hands and make play for himself. When he does that, he makes everyone else around him much better.

Which includes Palm's open 3s. Cam's open 3s and etc...

palm 100% needs to be in the game more as our guys are lacking confident shooters. well confident shooters who can actually make shots.

Caleb is shooting at the same exact clip as last season. And right around his career average. This is who he is as an offensive player. Oskar can’t guard anyone.

Agreed, he moves his feet well he just needs to learn where to go and how how to connect to the rest of the defense. It is not a physical deficiency. I truly wonder what some posters are looking at.
Btw not one of the Palmquist naysayers had anything positive to say about the Dudes performance against a top 20 program.
Certainly some non expert clowns 🤡 on this board

He can shoot the mid range 2 and the 3. He struggles in other areas of the game. The areas he struggles in tend to be the core identity of our program.
