Basically, a five-seed is for the best 16-20 teams.I think #16 sounds about right for this team, as of now.

Not sure why the outrage.
I am not saying we don't deserve the current ranking as we did earn it from the early losses, but honestly, when looking across the board, what 15 - 19 teams do you put in front of us?

IMO, we are easily one of the 10 best teams this season.

I don't disagree, really. I think you're probably right. However, I can understand the ranking and I don't think it's "unfair."

FWIW 5 seems to be the general consensus right now

http://bracketmatrix.com/

tho even in that if u look at the more recent ones.......it's trending to 4.
Yeah we are a 4 right now once they all update I would bet . Well the ones who are sensible . Palm is never to be paid attention to as he hates UK . I remember he had us like a 4 last year when everyone else had us as a 2 . Typical Palm crap.

two things are true to me in the last 5 years. each year the field overall looks weaker and weaker. and that i’m less concerned about who is in our region compared to where the games are played. even then it almost doesn’t matter. this team is starting to embrace the hostility.

As soon as Cal said before the Georgia came he was letting the players run the team I knew we were about to take off.

We win both this week and get yet another hard road win for the third week in a row and we will be 9-1 in our last 10 with only a banked in buzzer 3 on the road being our only blunder. I think we are one of the hottest teams in the country and a completely different team from game 3 Evansville and even last year. Since U6 we have seen Nick become consistent every night and Quickly is about there too. This is a team where it could be anyone any night for us and that's tough to defend. Right now there are only a handful of teams playing as well as us.

GOTta get to that 3 seed at least to have a shot at a natty run. Not happening from a 4/5 line. May lose first round

I haven't. Most years it's the weakest 1 that has to get shipped out West because there are no West teams on that line.

Or even two mid majors on the 1 seed line.

College bball is changing.
Looked at Lunardi's new mock today, UK is a 4 in the East! San Diego St. as the 1 and Seton Hall as the 2 in UK's bracket. That is just amazing! Obviously UK would never be gifted that bracket, but yes times are changing!

Haha yeah as much as I don't like to play the whole "oh I hope we get Team X as our 1 seed" (i just feel like when I do that it comes back to bite us)......San Diego St just seems like an awfully weak 1 that's only going to get it on the basis of an undefeated record. This isn't Wichita St 2014 lol

They are a good team......but 1 seed good? lol

Auburn doesn't scare me and neither does anybody else in the SEC. Not too far of a stretch to say we get through the rest of the season with 1 or fewer losses and then take the tourney in Nashville.

One terrible loss? OSU, Utah, USC, Evansville...4 terrible losses.

Three of those aren't "terrible" losses.. but it does seem like that's how they are classifying them. If that's the case though.. then that means Virginia, Duke, Butler, and the vast majority of top25 teams have terrible losses.

The pollsters have us at 13, right? I find it hard to believe they'd drop us lower than a 4-seed right now.

If all the metrics have us in the low 20's then why do all the rankings and 'eye tests" have us in the teens?
