Want more proof about how unpredictable college football is?
ESPN’s Phil Steele and Chris Fallica choose which teams they expect to win every week.
Steele’s record is 15-16-1.
Fallica’s record is 15-14.
A blindfolded monkey throwing darts at team names on the wall could do better.
I’m smarter than they are. I don’t even try to figure out who’s going to win. 18 to 22 year olds? They are unpredictable driving a car, with females, in the classroom and on the football field.
That’s what makes college football the best entertainment in sports. You never know what you’re going to get. Hell, a winless team in a nothing conference could beat a Power Five team like . . . oh, let’s say, Virginia Tech.
I sure hope my alma mater keeps that in mind at noon Saturday in Mountaineer Field. Just because it’s Kansas doesn’t mean you can mail it in and still win.
If Steele and Fallica don’t know what they’re talking about, who does?
