I thought he was referring to how well he tipped.
I wonder if Coach Painter is tired of Coach Pike’s team beating Purdue’s ***!
right around the 3-minute mark he is very complimentary.
you have to keep in mind.. this is a tough spot for him.. he just lost as a big favorite and number 1... he has to be a bit defensive and explain/show that he did his job correctly.. well, he does not HAVE to be.. but it is pretty natural reaction
when he sees what Edey got away with... what a bunch of them got away with.. he will know the refs did not screw them over.
Oh.. and what's that old saying.. "Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser".
his team was #1 and had a 8-10 point lead, very close to breaking the game open and running away with it. Ultimately he felt his team did not shut the door when they could have. Plenty of chances to make stops and they kept failing to make the stop.

Painter's just pissed that we rained on his parade. But I think he's a great coach and one of my favorites outside of Rutgers. I have to say, I didn't appreciate the **** we saw from Ivey and Stefonovic when they scored and basically told the fans to STFU. It's one thing to be excited. It's another thing to be classless.
He was making an excuse -- 'We kept it close', he said, as if that's why they lost. Your team
blew an 8-point lead and was outplayed down the stretch. Simple as that
