As a Packers fan, I think we could do worse. I do think there are probably less risky options though, like the article mentions his lack of contacts in the pro coaching network would be my biggest concern.

If he were to leave NW would fall off the grid!

Depends on whom they hire. We had a couple of fairly decent years under Gary Barnett.

Not knocking NW at all, just recognizing the difficulty it takes to win there. Gary made it work and sometime struggled based on the talent he could get.

I didn't take it that way. I just think Fitz has built up enough equity in the program that we could get someone decent to replace him. If P.J. Fleck can get top 25-35 classes to go up to Minnesnowta, there's no reason we couldn't find somebody to do that at NU. The next guy up will have great facilities, largely thanks to Fitz, and an administration that actually supports athletics, unlike those of the '70s-'80s dark ages before Barnett, Walker and Fitz.

The pack tend to go in long term on coaches. The NFL is a grind, but you don't have to do the year round college football grind.

Fitz is awesome. Seems like a great guy. One of the few coaches, other than Frost of course, that I like in the B10.

Frost seems like a real up-and-comer. I'm not looking forward to the Cats having to stop his offense next season. If we can cobble an o-line together at Northwestern next year, we might have a little more firepower — could be a good game.

As a season ticket and shareholder, I am intrigued by this, but do not approve of this decision.

I hope Fitz sticks around, the west needs him at NW.

I'll be nicer. A couple of bowls of loud moth soup and a guy can have a little too much fun. Sorry if I rustled jimmies or nancy's.
