Chiefs wear Riddell Speedflex helmet, and like the Revolution model they don't have the pads under the ear that can keep helmet fastened down. The thinking is that the pad transfers energy to weak spots that can promote concussions.

When the pads were first taken out helmets were coming off like crazy in a lot of games. That problem has been ameliorated somewhat but helmets can still pop-off with right hit. A knee to the head wearing a helmet is jarring so a knee without a helmet can be a real blast.

His helmet broke twice and his table broke once. Seeing him get kicked when his helmet popped off was scary. I hope he is okay, some players get CTE in later life if they get too many bad concussions.
