The OP's "I told you so" ramblings are getting tiresome.. and the constant agenda to attack one of our players is so weird.
Putting the ball in baskets saved the season
No shocker there. These kids are such a better team sped up. We also have some really good rhythm/transition 3 point shooters who arent so great when theyre shooting in a slow half court
So are you implying that we deliberately played a slow pace @ Michigan State and against Wisconsin? We tried to beat them down the court in transition and failed. Shots didn’t fall.
I don’t attack any players
.....and opponents not getting back on DOP is all over the place.
A couple games ago he was harping about how Pikiell focus on offense and less on defense because our pace was packing. That game we got destroyed on the boards and barely forced any turnovers.
Our pace is driven by our defense and rebounding.
OK not attack, but point out ad nauseam when this player misses or messes up just to prove some point.
You just seem really arrogant and have an agenda. Almost wishing someone to fail just so your point can be proven right.
OP is all over the place.

funny you mention that...
we are 45 of 103 from 3 in our five fastest paced games.....

Hes right tho people just hate that hes right. Hes absolutely NAILED what lineup we should rock with to win, that lineup ran the floor last night and as soon as we turned to them the game did a 180The OP's "I told you so" ramblings are getting tiresome.. and the constant agenda to attack one of our players is so weird.
I just want the team to win and love talking basketball and like to share what I see and research the team a lot.
“The ball just went in” doesn’t sit well with me it’s better to identify the underlying cause. You can’t tell your boss “it just worked out” and expect it to pass. There are some people here who like to talk in more detail. I admit I’m not right all the time so not quite sure about the arrogance comment. I find those who say “the ball just went in” or “those numbers are just a coincidence” to be more arrogant tbh but I don’t call them out
"I just want the team to win", wow you sound so innocent.

what?
Except he’s not right. He was saying last week to that Young/Mathis need more time than Baker/McConnell.
Like I said, he’s all over the place.
Most people agreed that Young needed to see the court more but these constant posts over and over to try and push an agenda get kind of old.
Turns out playing young more and McConnell less outweighs needing to change Geos minutes as much.
As I’ve said he has to score to play a lot and that fix seems to help him score (and RHJ).
Had Pike decided to continue playing Paul and McConnell close to 30 than nothingplaying Geo as much in favor of young/Mathis would definitely be a good solution.
Or maybe Geo is actually a key contributor and leader of the team and he’s improved since freshman year?
Or maybe hitting baskets helps you win games?
Sometimes things aren’t that complicated. Well they’re not when you don’t have agendas.
Geo has always been a key contributor. This team is not that deep. You saying I don’t think he is a key contributor is your talking point. Not mine. I have always said Geo needs to score to be playing high minutes. That Geo McConnell Paul isn’t the best line up for us. That Geo is the same player he was as a freshman - well by and large he is - though we see he flourishes more offensively with pace and Young playing. Contrary to your opinion, that makes me happy.
I already laid out actual numbers that support when we play with pace (generally leads to certain lineups/players playing more) we shoot better from deep. This a fact.
I think you are constantly looking to trip me up because you think I’m attacking guys - I’m really not - you just have a natural reaction to take basketball talk that’s not over the top celebratory to be negative. I make a lot of positive comments about players on this team you really don’t reply to. We can DM about that if you want.
there was much more transition game where we pushed simply because our defense was better and Indiana was taking some bad shots at times.
I agree with the title but we also have to consider that slowing it down stopped a 5 game skid and started a 4 game win streak. So pace definitely helped there by slowing it down. We've played 5 games with pace over 70: Illinois (w) Iowa (L by 2) Syracuse (W) @tOSU (L dominated for 35 minutes) and then last night Indiana
You break it in half top half of games in order of pace we're 6-3 (losses vs Iowa @tOSU and @Penn state) and 10 slowest 4-6

Three pointers are difference makers in catching up and pulling away from opponents. This is a make or miss team. When they make 3s at a high percentage like they did last night, they're capable of beating anyone. When they shoot them badly, they can lose to anyone. It's that simple.

TRUE.. especially defense. Make opponents MISS shots... on MADE shots, they will always get back on D and force us into a half-court offense when transition offense is what we feed on. And, of course, for there to be a transition, we must BOARD the missed shots. Our pace is driven by our defense and rebounding.
